I must be getting old- as I forgot that last weekend was the Anacortes event.
The irony- I WAS IN ANACORTES SATURDAY.
I was up looking at a boat that I may be interested in, and drove through Anacortes. I would normally have walked the dock and accidentally discovred everyone, but the waterfron festival was in full swing and I wasn't interested in running the gauntlet of the crowds. _________________ Matt Gurnsey

Susan and I drove up Saturday night after work and joined the party at the yacht club . Good fun and got to meet new people. really enjoyed out talk with Rogers friends. Good to see everyone. Stayed the night with warren and we fished and shrimped Sunday at partridge bank. 20 shrimp and not halibut. Great water with no wind or tide. Just smooth water and lots of wildlife. Birds where everywhere and we had a Minke whale feeding near us for while. We did watch one 45lbs being landed near us and heard few more on the radio. The hard thing was listening to the Canadians catching salmon after salmon on their side of the line. Great weekend all the way around. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Thanks to all of you who helped make this CBGT a fun experience and the weather was incredible! Coming in to the CBGT I was thinking that maybe it was too much, too close to the Friday Harbor CBGT. But after talking to some of you about it, I think I will organize one for next year, too. As I mentioned earlier, the yacht club has been hosting a Waterfront Festival volunteer BBQ on Saturday nights and the person who approved the rental to me forgot about that, but they honored my request and moved their BBQ to Sunday. I am not sure they will let me rent it for Saturday night again, though. But I've got a year to figure something out -- maybe on a different weekend. If you have any thoughts on the matter, please share them. In the meantime, thanks again to all of you who participated!
