Baxter is a complication! No boat to leave him on during dinner, otherwise, I would love to have him hang out on the dock - he loves it too! We'll have to cogitate on this one a bit! Tomorrow it is!

Wow,
We are getting close to lift off on this one!! I however ,will be working until early Saturday as usual..hopefully my dispatcher will get me out of Medford at a good time Friday.
In the meantime I will be keeping an eye out in the dark on I-5 for C-Dory's heading north as I go south tonight. If ya hear an air horn honking and it is a FedEx Freight truck, it's only me saluting.

Thanks much for your help, Ruth, but it looks like the J.C.Lately won't be making it's first gathering in Bellingham.
Got up early for the drag to the gas station and, on the return home, the trailer brakes locked up tight in the alley behind the house. It took an hour's worth of screwing around before the way was cleared for Waste Management.
In the meantime NWS was consulted for the crossing of the Strait followed by a run up Bell Hill (Roger) for a visual - looked O.K. to fly with several thousand foot ceiling to the Cascade, but the Strait was covered in fog! Maybe tomorrow?
Now (Fri evening) it sounds as if Sunday will be less than accommodating for a return trip even if we could make it across on Saturday.
So we've declared it a near total bust, and Harvey and Deena and the Priests are eating the dessert Verla fixed for the pot luck. Mmmn; you don't know what you're missing.
We'll try it next time,
Paul |

Paul and Verla,
Sorry to read about the trailer brakes. Also, that you won't be able to make it to Bellingham but we'd would rather have you safe. Hard to say what the weather will be like from one day to the next around here. At any rate we'll see you at Sequim in September.
Now about that dessert we missed.......

Paul and Verla -
How about driving over for a visit today? Great opportunity to visit folks and see all the boats -- and bring a little of that dessert _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)

Ruth & Joe, El & Bill et al,
You all are really great! We are so sorry you missed out on the dessert, but just to let you know, I did your share and it was wonderful. Now about the drive, I would do it in a heartbeat but Deena is having so much trouble with the knee thing, that even walking the dock is pretty much out. We leave today for the Doctors visit. Sure would rather be touring the new CD-29 and sharing the solar lites and such. You all have a great time, WE ARE MISSING YOU
Really looking forward to Squim Bay in Sept,
Harvey

Lots of boats.. nice conversations with friendly folks. The rafting-up has begun on the docks, but there's room for more. It is great to be able to put faces with all the names (and Ruth even provided name tags). We had supper with 4 new friends at our table and had a great evening. I finally got to meet Dusty! Having fun and not even burning any fuel!
Best wishes,
Jim B.
Molly was happy that all these people came "just to meet her." _________________ Jim & Joan

Ruth and Joe,
You did it again! Great gathering of the clan, and a real thrill for me to put faces on so many familiar names on the Brat site. Finally got to meet the passengers on Molly's boat - way cool! And Don, and, and. I'm blessed to have been able to meet so many!!
Excellent dinner too, but wish I could have walked the dock to meet the whole gang.
Thanks so much!!

As you wish, Captain DaNag! I've posted some images into the album and you can read all about the gathering (and see plenty of images) right here...

A big hello to all the C-Brats at Bellingham - too bad I couldn't make it. I will be launching out of Everett in the early AM tomorrow (Sun) and will be fishing Possession, Edmonds and Pt. No Point. If some of you are traveling that way, give me a holler - I monitor, 16, 68 and 69 so be sure to call out the channel you're on. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

Somebody missing two folding chairs (or two people missing one each, they don't match) from the Saturday night potluck? They ended up in my Expedition...somebody was a bit too helpful when it started raining! |

I'm glad you fessed up Pat, we've been talking about you about how you're a chair stealer.
Actually, the chairs belong to Dave "Oldgrowth". I'm sure he'll chime in very soon.
BTW, we still have 5 boats left on the Bellingham dock. Along with C-Dancer, there's C-Voyager, C-ya, Sea Shift and unnamed CD-25, user name Woodduck.
It was another successful gathering, except for the soggy weather that is. It was great seeing old faces and meeting new ones. Kudos to Ruth and Joe (R-Matey) on another job well done. _________________ Peter & Caryn

What a great gathering. Ruth and Joe did another great job setting up this gathering and keeping it running smoothly. Thank You Ruth and Joe.
The weather was a little breezy and wet but did not seem to dampen anyone’s enthusiasm.
I am still sitting at the Bellingham Marina because of small craft warnings this morning. Larry Q and I came to the gathering by boat from Olympia and did not want to fight 33 knot winds with 3 to 5 foot wind waves all the way back to Olympia. We will leave Monday morning at 7 AM with Peter (C-Dancer) joining us to the Seattle area.
This was the maiden voyage for the stretched C-Voyager and I am very happy with her performance and handling.

What a beautiful job Dave has done with C-Voyager. Those custom made gas tanks (he made them himself) are amazing. (I'll bet you can't even find them!) Congratulations on a job well done. It was a real pleasure to visit with everyone and see "Just Be Nice" in action. Thanks Ruth and Joe. _________________ MartyP
