The boat in the video just happens to be ours. We took delivery two weeks ago and have been working our way north from Olympia to the Bellingham gathering, at sea for 8 days now and loving it. _________________ RUSS & TONI |

Fantastic, it's beautiful. How much water does it draw?

Andrew, at the factory, told us it would draw 28". Fully loaded for cruising we weighed 10,100 lbs. on the aluminum 2 axle Float-On trailer. Fuel economy has been roughly 6 mph/6 mpg, 10 mph/3 mpg, 15 mph/ 2.5 mpg, and top speed 20 mph (+/-) 2.2 mpg. |

I've got to admit, even though I'm not a tug guy, that the Ranger 27 is a great looking boat with a lot of neat features. Job well done by the Ranger Tug factory and congratulations to the new owners. Very cool boat.

If I could own two, I would own a Ranger Tug. What a well appointed vessel. _________________ Captain Matt

Congrats Russ and Toni!!!!
Looks like you got yourself a really well designed boat there. I saw the ad in the latest Passage Maker magazine about the enlarged cockpit, but could not figure out how they'd done that.
Is it the R-25 design from the cabin door forward? I mean is the beam like the 25 or the 29?
Those cockpit compartments look to me to be the handiest way to access all that extra gear and devices. And, the larger Yanmar ought to be dependable. Your economy figures are also impressive.
Do you know how easily one could keep one of these going on the water through a freezing winter? Maybe a well placed heater in the bilge or such? Or do they have some option available for that?
Anyway, congratulations on a really great boat! I know you've been checking things out for years now and it looks like that paid off.

Nice boat - congrats Russ and Toni!
I haven't seen the 27 in person, but it sure looks good in the video and on the Ranger site. 8.5' beam, so trailerable without permits. Lots of liveability and good performance. Ranger customer service. Lots to like there! _________________ Jim & Joan

Toni and Russ,
Kate and I are looking forward to seeing you both (and the boat) at Bellingham. We will be up Sat morning and leaving Sunday late morning. I will see if I can talk Kate into bringing some of her most recent weavings. _________________ David and Kate

beautiful yacht! almost sad that's it's sold as i always like to have some idea as to it's value and wouldn't dare ask what these puppies retail for.
at any rate, very nice, please keep us informed as to how and where your new yacht takes you.

Thanks all for the congrats, we are pretty happy. We still miss a lot of things we could do on the C-Dory that we can't do on the Ranger. With a single fixed screw we are way more conscious of shallow water and we probably won't be beaching the tug. But there is more room for "stuff", more water, larger waste tank, and a portable freezer in the port lazarette means we can stay out longer and be more comfortable. Always trade offs. |

I am also curious about this. Does anyone have any insight they could offer?

I am not aware of any cold weather options but the factory is very accommodating and I think if you e-mailed your questions to them they would respond. |

BTW Pat. Traveler reports 20 mph cruise at 2.2 mpg. Just a shade better than a CD25 and right about what you were once hoping the Ranger would get you. Maybe you guys should just "see what the deal is". Baxter would love it. _________________ TyBoo Mike
