Lane, I'll be a few hours behind you, leaving from the same slings. But I have to work until 3 p.m. Friday, and right now I have a flat trailer tire. Should be up and rolling, however.
It's time for me to call Kathy again and offer up the official C-Count and lengths. Is everyone who's going to Lopez signed up, shaved, showered and ready to go? Lawn mowed and bills paid? Okay then, I'll recite to her from our list the attendees. I don't think I have to be exact because, well, she's familiar with C-World.
Food. Do we want to have our traditional potluck? They really are fun, but for you newbies, I personally don't think attendance is mandatory. You will, however, need a note from one of our teachers. Lastly, if the weather is really lousy, like Jarrell Cove lousy, I'm going to leave Bambina at home and drive up.

Susan and I will be there friday afternoon as planned. I just realized that the 7th is openning day of shrimp season. I reall love to fish for these guys. I have only shrimpd in the north sound area. Shipwreak and south of there is really good on openning day. Where around the islands is good for shrimp?? I will be bringing two pots to use that week end and I will be making a run out for halibut to eastern bank or the like. So whos up for shrimping??? _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Well, sports fans, Scott Mathews sent us the ol' "we're trying but no promises for Friday" email today...biting nails here, but the long and short of it is, IF we get a boat, Patty will be coming, IF no boat, Patty stays home, I come and beg for some place to sleep. IF we have a boat, it will be a Saturday arrival. No boat, I will probably hook up with David Friday afternoon to hitch a ride over and bring da BEER...one way or another, I'll be there. SCOTT - tell the boys to make us happy!!!! I know it is what it is, got to keep telling myself, it is what it is, it is what it is, it is what it is... _________________

It is what it is. Many times that humble epigram has helped steer me to serenity. We're pullin' for you, Beer Guy. |

Okay, I talked to Kathy yesterday and said we'd have approximately 6 25's, 7 22's, 2 19 footers and four salty, attractive 16's.
I realize some boats may not show or even be built yet, and that weather always reigns supreme. Regardless, we're assigned one 30 foot slip and seven 40 foot slips. I called Da Nerd and he told me the math doesn't add up, so we'll have to get cozy if everyone shows. Not cozy like Bill's critters, but close. Some of us likely will need to raft together in these slips.
Here's where we go: Slips 217B, 216, 215, 214, 207, 205, 204 and 102.
The 100 and 200-series docks are closest to shore, with the 200's west of the 100's. The 200-series slips are 40 feet, except 217B a less desirable space just inside the breakwater. Lastly, 30 foot slip 102 is just west of the gas dock.
Just let me know if I can offer up any more confusion. |

Hi to all We have not been on the site much, but are on the sign-up sheet for Lopez. I am assuming that we do not need to call and confirm that we will be attending, correct Immacu-Nada plans to be there Friday afternoon some time. Can't wait to see everyone. We are bringing my brother along. His first time fishing in the San Juans. Will be fun.

We plan on launchng at WA Park Friday in the am. We've had good luck at the park the last few times we ventured up north. M. is going to whip up some Salmon chowder for potluck....This should be a fun weekend, I've been trying to get the moped fleet running good. I think I can haul the two of them in the boat and mount a proper land assualt on the Islands

We finally took delivery of our new boat. Les and Kathy were great. We will be taking it back to the factory after Lopez for some warrenty work.
Robbin and I will be in the Islands from Tuesday thru the weekend and will see everyone next weekend.
Nine Inches, I think you are talking about Cornet Bay State Park launch on Whidbey Island. Skyline is located on Fidalgo Island. Brock or Luna C are the ones to talk to about Skyline. I have launched there only once and that was awhile ago. |

Skyline is a sling launch so no worry about tides. There is free parking on the street, but was full this weekend and probably will be next unless it is raining or you come early Friday and get lucky. They have just signed quite a bit of neighborhood parking as "no trailer or RV parking", so that is no longer a option. They do have several pay options right at the launch area. I have not had any trouble in the past five years parking on the street or in the pay lots. _________________ Janet & Chris without CD22 Luna C

we shouldn't have too much trouble, we are launching on wed. and running around the area until sun. or mon.
The security thing always gets me...i would hate to see my rig broke into while i'm out!

Nine Inches, I agree with LunaC about Skyline. I've been using that sling since '89 and I've never had a problem with my truck or trailer. And when free parking is difficult to find, I cough up $6 a day for my rig. They may have raised their rates.
Diane, no need to call and reserve space. Simply unleash your claws and fight for one of the assigned C-Slips. |
