I thought I was done with this thread, but today I received a few more pix from Rolf Hildre, one of the guys who brought Daydream back down.

Here is Neil Rabinowitz of Motorboating magazine hanging out in space shooting Anna Leigh and Daydream - you can probably get a sense of how close the boats are too!

And on the way to Nakwakto Rapids.

And in Nakwakto Rapids at high slack:

Pat nice photos!

What's the story on all the signs on the little island?

Direction pointers and mileages to everyone's home port?

Joe.

The island locally is named Tremble Island. It is directly in the middle of the entrance to Nakwakto Rapids and a full tidal flow (16-18 MPH) it is said to actually tremble if you are on it. The signs have been put there over the years by various boats as proof they where there. Boat name and year usually. I will do a
Google search and see if I can find a picture of the rapids in full flow. The above picture just looks like a lake.

Thanks, David! Looks kinda like one of those buoys in an extreme tidal flow that appears to be being towed upstream by a submarine when you see it from the water! Joe.

Pat and David... Please keep all the photos and stuff coming... I never grow tired of the NW waters. Also...if yall want to send me you start dates, your end dates, miles traveled, engine hours, gallons fuel used, and $ spent on fuel.... I have made a neat little spread sheet that I can send ya with your data on it. Made one up for Casey on Naknek and sending it to him today.
