Hey Roger,
We are still in the Keys. We are at Marathon City Marina on a mooring ball in Boot Key Harbor.
We plan on heading towards Key Largo early in the morning. Hope to see you along the way somewhere.

Hey Roger,
We left last Sunday. Sure would have liked to meet you.
We had a great time there at Boot Key Harbor at Marathon Municipal Marina. We took a bus to Key West one day.
We are on our way back to Jacksonville, Fla. at present. Tonight, we are anchored at Lake Sylvia in Fort Lauderdale. So far, we have logged 687 miles on this trip.
What a great way to escape some winter.

Miafun1,
I hope you folks get the best of weather. We are leaving to come down around March 1st. We will put in at Ft.Pierce at the Harbortown Marina and will wonder down to Key West via the Hawk channel and the ICW and back up. Should be there for a month or so if the planets all line up right. Maybe we will run across you folks in our travels. Have fun.

Yep, The "C Dory Boot Key Cruising and drinking society" is meeting today-Nick is driving down from Key Largo (second time he has driven down to Marathon area), and we are picking up the crews of Molly J and Lake Effect to do what people do in the Keys in Jan.
Beautiful weather so far. There will be a Norther in the next few days, so a bit more wind than we have had. _________________ Bob Austin

Hey Will-C,
Thanks for the wish! Its been so great so far weather wise. We aren't sure at the moment what our plans are and will probably be cruising the St. Johns river starting sometime in late Feb or early March but would sure like to cross paths with you.

Marie and I enjoyed our time with Dan and Peggy, Andy and Molly as well as always with Nick! The time with Nick was expanded into the evening due to some fortuitous sea food appearance! Nick commented that when you meet C Dory folks that it is like they were old friends--how true! |

While in the Keys if you want a boat accessible place on land to stay go to Parmers on Little Torch Key. They have suitable harborage and are on the inside < 1 mile from the bridge between Big Pine and Little Torch. Also accessible by boat is The Warfe restaurant on Summerland Key on the inside adjacent to A1A down the fishing boat canal. If you want to hire a fishing guide who will take you out on your boat or his call Captain Jim Peabody on Big Pine Key.
Have a blast.

We stayed at Pamers Resort 2 years ago when we were down in the Keys without a boat for a week. The cheapest room was about $135 a night--on up to over $450 a night. Boat slips were extra. It was a nice and clean place--and less than some resorts. We prefer our own RV or boat over any of the resorts. There are lots of restaurants available by water, with boat tie up. |

I don't recall what our rate was but it wasn't anywhere near your rate and we were able to fanagle no slip fee. I too would prefer staying on my own RV or boat but the 16'7" Whaler doesn't fit the bill nor does our Pathfinder tow vehicle.
