Warren, I am heading up around 11am or so from Guemes. I will look for you and be glad to give a hand. You will probably be going right past Cooks Cove on your way.

WE have been watching this thread since the first day, and looking forward to it in a big way, especially after getting to meet so many of you at the Lopez CBGT at Fisherman's Bay. However, health issues are requiring a visit to Portland for medical expertise and the timing is going to preclude our getting to join you all in Bellingham. The Admirable is needing knee surgery and this is the time that works best. there are few things that take priority over such a prestigous family (C-Brats) event, but family health is going to have to be one of them.

Here is wishing you all, fair weather, downhill currents, and safe travels and really good times. We will be watching the reports here, as it goes, and looking forward to Bellingham 2008.

Hope to see you all in Sequim Bay in Sept.

Harvey & Deena

Harvey & Deena,

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from the surgery. Will miss having you join us at Bellingham this weekend but we certainly can understand about the need to take care of this important matter. After the Admiral has recuperated perhaps there'll be a long weekend where the weather is favorable and you can come up this way. Meanwhile we'll look forward to seeing you again when we get together at Sequim in September.

My two-week cruise has been disrupted, but I'm intending to get it back on track Friday.

I have a request:

On Friday, is anybody willing to pick me and my two daughters up in Edmonds, and drop us off in Cornet Bay (inside Deception Pass)?

The situation: my boat is tied up in Cornet Bay, and I'm home in Seattle. I need to get myself to the boat without leaving a vehicle stranded at Cornet Bay. The obvious solution: get a ride with a C-Brat!

Anybody mind a detour to run us up there? It looks like about a ten miles (roundtrip) detour, assuming your intention was to run the Swinomish. It's just about five miles between the Swinomish Channel entrance and Cornet Bay. I'll gladly chip in fuel money.

Amazing how many things have to be done before a CBGT plus 2 week cruise. This has been on my to-do list for a while. The first mate was ecstatic at finally getting her single handle mixer faucet!
We'll be leaving Sequim fairly early Thursday for the 2 hour run to Bellingham. Weather looks best for Thursday. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Another change of plans. It turns out we will NOT be able to attend the Bellingham gathering, for personal/family reasons. We are really disappointed, of course, but this decision has eased up the tension around here, so I'm pretty confident it's the right decision.

I have some good news and some bad news.

First the good news. The brewery is really doing well this summer and things are looking good.

The bad news. There is no extra beer in the brewery to bring to the event. I was there tonight and everything in stock was committed.

We are in the process of installing two more fermentors and a new glycol chiller which will increase our production level.

Just a heads up for anyone expecting what has become almost expected. And believe me, Pat and I really enjoy bringing it along when we can.

I'll miss it too!

Tim,

Thank you for letting us know that you won't be able to attend the B'Ham CBGT.

timflan – sorry to hear you can’t make it. I almost had to cancel for personal/family reasons. It was touch and go for almost a week but at the last minute things worked out, so it is a go for me.

David – sorry to hear the bad news. I always looked forward to your beer, fortunately I have a six pack of my next favorite beer. (Guinness)

Just put the finishing touches on the boat and have it loaded and ready to go. I will be meeting Larry Q in the C-Ya eight AM tomorrow at Swantown Marina for our trip to Bellingham. If anyone’s schedule permits it, you can meet up with us on the way. You can view our route here, then click on the “Olympia to Bellingham Cruise map”. Add 8 hours to the times at the various points. You can also call me on my cell 360.951.2814 or give us a shout on the radio (channel 68 ).

See everybody in Bellingham.

We are heading to Birch Bay tomorrow morning rather than this afternoon, and will come down to the dock sans boat Friday afternoon / evening for greetings and the dinner. We will be staying at Birch Bay and keeping Daydream in our driveway until heading out for the Gulf Islands, but we will be down to the dock Saturday afternoon / evening for more dock talk and the potluck and Sunday a.m. for the breakfast. We will be launching from Blaine for the Gulf Island cruise Sunday after breakfast (Birch Bay / Blaine is maybe 20 minutes north of Bellingham). So there will be one less boat on the dock, perhaps a little more space for the rest of you!

And Baxter? I really do need a dog fix!

I'm sitting at the San Diego airport awaiting the flight to Seattle and messing with Verizon National Access using my cellphone and laptop. It can be added or removed from any regular plan just by calling customer service. Yah, it's $60/month but if you turn it off in a week they prorate it and there are no additional fees involved. Great for week/weekend vacations/rv trips.

See y'all tomorrow

Don
