Has anyone seen Hydraulic trim tabs available for the TomCat. I had those on the previous boat and would be interested in the usefulness of them on a catamaran.

Gene, I don't see how they could be fitted. First they will interfere with the flow of water to the outboard props. Secondly, they will not be able to fitted flush to the bottom of the boat (because of the hull geometry. Finally there is not enough room for the ram unless you modify the Armstrong bracket.
I think we are "stuck" with cavitation plate foils--like the Permitrims or Dolfins.
There is another possibility--that is hyrafoils--much different than trim tabs, but they have been used on some cats. The hulls and wing deck would probably have to be re-inforced to allow use of these. Most likely one could not trailer the boat easily with foils in place--so it is not an easy solution either.

Gene,
I had the same thought for a long time, but could not see any way to get a set large enough set into that busy and small area between the hull and the props. I went with the Permatrims and am very pleased with the performance. I think it's better to not penetrate the hull with fasteners anyway.
Since then, I have seen a cast aluminum version of engine trim tab that curves down on the edges. I think that model could be even more advantageous in all that 'loose water' around the props.
