A few weeks ago, I found my starboard side Lenco trim tab actuator, or piston, or whatever they're called, had pulled away form the SS trim tab.
I replaced the tab, and took the damaged piece apart. I decided to post the photos in my photo album in case anyone else wants to see what the inside of these actuator's look like.
Huge thanks to fellow C Brat Colby Smith who took pity on my and sent me an actuator he had on hand.
I was very shocked at the great amount of rust on the gears. The gears had been in place since 2006. Somehow, all the grease on the gears had fallen away or off the gears.
Was not expecting this condition. Anyone else seen this before? Is this an item that must be taken apart and greased, or what?
Now I'm wondering if I should take apart the port actuator and make sure the grease is on the gears.
Check out the photos on page two of my album and let me know what ya'll think.
Thanks in advance for your help. _________________ "Ain't no nookie like Chinookie"---Ray Troll
