This evening I had to add another name on the "Christening" site.

Congratulations! But before we can spew forth with the adulations, you had best be spewing forth a few details.
I wonder what color it will be? _________________ TyBoo Mike

No...it's actually not green....it is as you would suspect....
FIRE ENGINE RED!
Not only did I super size it I did the "full meal deal".
Last Friday, I called Les on the phone and told him I was ready to purchase a 22'. Today, I drove up there and after chatting about options and his answering my many questions I walked out a happy man!
Basically, "the full meal deal" is almost the same as Bill and Dana's list with just a few slight changes. (The only major difference is that I chose to go with the twin Honda 40's).
It sounds as if the new "Da Nag" and the new "Sea Shift" will possibly "meet" each other in the factory. (Kind of like being in the nursery and play pen together in the early moments of their lives).

Well, Bill, it looks like you found your industrial spy. There'll be no keeping the Sea Shifters out of that plant!
I knew in my heart it was red, Dave. Congrats again. We are real happy for you. Especially since it means we will be seeing a lot more of the rest of your family!
Man, if the C-Dory brass don't spring for our convention now, they are not good business people!

That is just too cool, Dave! I couldn't be happier for you, and I think I have a bit of an idea how you're feeling right now...
Don't worry - after a couple nights, you'll start sleeping again. Then you just have to work on reducing the daydreams and getting some form of concentration back for your day job.
The other day, my boss was chatting with me about something, and had been talking for about 3-4 minutes. All of the sudden, he stopped, and I realized some input was expected on my part - trouble was, I'd been staring him right in the eyes and hadn't heard a word he'd said. The only thing in my mind was RED BOAT.
Maybe we should start a support group... _________________ Will, C-Brat Nerd |

Thanks, Bill.
I really appreciate you posting your list a few days ago as to what you ordered on your boat. Even though my list was already prepared and on paper (I actually started my list for a 22' two years ago), I hadn't given much consideration to the electronics. When I read your list of electronics, I researched them and was a bit more knowledgeable about them. So, when Les and I talked electronics, I at least had an idea of what it all meant. Initially, I was going to "pass" on the auto pilot, but after talking with Les I saw the multiple advantages to including that system so I did. |

HI DAVE,
RED!!!! NOW THATS MORE IN CHARCTER FOR YOU!
SOUNDS LIKE A SWEET BOAT.
YOU WILL BE AMAZED WITH THE RAYMARINE ELECTRONICS.
BE PREPARED TO SPEND SOME CONSIDERABLE TIME PLAYING WITH THE SYSTEM TO LEARN HOW TO DO ALL THE FUNCTIONS THAT THE SMART SYSTEM IS CAPABLE OF. |

Thanks Doug,
I'm looking forward to "masterminding" the system. Les, indicated that it is fairly user friendly, which is important for me. I also was impressed with the feature of the VHF radio that allows you to press the RED distress button and it allows the Coast Guard to know your map coordinates, the make, color and length of your vessel, your name, address and phone number. (As long as the radio is linked to your GPS, which it will be). Additionally, it has the "selective hailing feature, which automatically plots the other vessel's location on your chartplotter, so you know exactly where the "hailing vessel" is.
One thing for sure, my maritime education went up a few notches just spending time with Les yesterday! |

WOW, you guys are going to work Less to death...that's great. The money you're going to save on motel bills for the crew will pay for the new boat _________________ Ken

Congratulations Dave, you must really be excited with the new boat. I get all worked up just tinkering with our old one so I can imagine what planning a new one must be like. You talked about adding to the christening list but didn't mention the name. Still keeping "Sea Shift" and will you do the service yourself or bring in outside help? |
