I an in the process of looking for a boat. A friends father has a 1998 22' C-Dory and is interested in selling. This year he has put a new 130hp Honda OB. His health dictates that he sell. The boat I'm looking for will be used fishing, snorkeling and pleasure riding. The C-Dory is not that well known in S.GA , N. Fl area. Would anyone like to tell me the pluses and minuses of this boat. Safety is of utmost importance.

Thanks,
Fletch

Fletch:

I'm from the same waters. Look at the bottom of this thread: http://golddredger.com/dcforum/DCForumID5/93.html the boat is loaded to the max 4500 lbs and floats like the proverbial cork (it is one). Just scroll through the past threads and you'll see what all you can do.

Fletch, 130HP is too big for a CD 22. Sure it isn't a 25? I'll let others tell you the same thing. I think the max recommended is 100 Hp. I've got twin 45's and the most I've seen is a single 90 or twin 50's. Plus kicker of course for those that are trolling.

Thanks for the info . I think I'll go look at the boat as soon as the weather permits. One question is the 130hp engine unsafe or is it mildly overpowered?
