There should only be a couple of wires comming off the battery: The Wallas, the battery charger, the alternator, and a bilge pump. The rest of the wiring (console wiring, windlass wiring, and the engine start should come off a bus bar or the battery switch). There should be fuses in each wiring comming off the battery, except heavy wire to the switch--pull these fuses and see what does not work. Then label the wire. If there are no fuses, then pull the wires--and label anyway dependly on what does not work. You may find that the main wire to the console (should be a #8 or#10 wire) is using a lot of power. You can put an amp meter between the parts of the fuse holder, or between the wiring and the battery post with everything "off". You want to start with the 10 amp circuit on your digital volt meter--this will probably a second plug for the red wire--not the one for the rotary switch--and be certain that all switches are off. From there, when you find the wire with the high drain, then you can start pulling wires at the back of the console--and label off of these--and perhaps re-organizing them. (we had to competely re-wire our 25 to straighten it out--and label it). [/quote]

I really like deep cycles. I prefer the ones made by Johnson's Control Group to all the others. They are sold at lots of places, I used to sell them at Standard Battery in Spokane. But, you can also buy them at Walmart and Costco. They seem to be heads and shoulders above the rest in many cases.
