When docking my boat at times I will need to make quick adjustments to the wheel and have wanted to add a steering ball to the boat. Well, looking around at boat shows for this item it was quite an expensive add-on.
Sears to the rescue!! They sell a ball to put on your mower which sells for $10.
It works great!!

I just added one on my CD-22. Great for trolling and steering in reverse while standing in the middle of the aisle.
Try a search for Suicide Knob on ebay.
Lots of great choices!
Merry Christmas!

In looking on Ebay I believe I saw a wooden one, which reminded my of David our Hub Helm guy from Guemes Island
If a wooden one works, I am wondering if that might be something that David might enjoy making. I would be happy to have another one of his beautiful items on my boat

Just a note here to be sure to mount the knob on the inside of the
wheel if you can. In a panic that wheel can come around and hit you
in a place where it would hurt.
As I remember some tractor outfits have them that fold out of the way
as well and think they were painted wood.

The John Deere store in Redmond had some in the trim colors the last time I was in there. _________________ MartyP

As to the wooden knobs, Roger (Dreamer) is making some pretty (PRETTY) nice looking wine stoppers. Might not be too much of a stretch to get that onto a steering wheel.
