Hi folks -
Anyone found an equivalent non-Perko replacement bulb for the the Perko navigation lights on CD 22s & 25s? The Perko part is #0070DP1CLR. Readily available on-line, but my local marine supply stores only stock Ancor's and other branded replacement bulbs. None seem to be an exact match on specs. Maybe Radio Shack or something?Need one before the weekend if possible.
Thanks,

The only place I could find one was at West Marine. They usually stock them in the stores and they are available on line.
There were plenty with a little pointed end around but none that have the "innie" instead of the "outie".
Good luck

Thanks, Charlie. Perko's customer service told me West Marine didn't stock them and would have to special order. And I couldn't locate them on West Marine's web site. Finding out you had found them on the shelf at West Marine yourself led me to check in person. Yup, they got em. C-Brats to the rescue! Again.

You should be able to find a similar bulb at an auto parts store. I am not positive, but I believe it is a #91 bulb. It is a good idea to put a little anti-corrosion grease on the contacts as you insert the bulb. _________________ Bob Austin

The Perko part number is #0070DP1CLR, as mentioned above. It's a long glass cylinder with tapered metal ends, called a "Festoon" type bulb. As Charlie comments, it's an "innie" instead of an "outie", meaning instead of having a fully pointed end, the ends taper down, then invert into a "hollowish" tip. The bulb holder is specifically made to fit into these hollow dimples. Otherwise, you could use a regular automotive bulb with a fully pointed end. As I remember, the older navigation lights used conventional bulbs like Dr. Bob mentions.
Do a Google search on "Perko part #0070DP1CLR" and you can find any number of sources. You can get the price for a package of two down to $7.99 on the web, and then have them shipped by U.S.Mail and avoid the minimum $6-$7 UPS charge.
Click on the bulb to see a listing.
NOTE: The bulb is rated at 15 watts at 12 volts and drawing 0.97 amps, and producing 12 candlepower.
West Marine part number 297335 has the same specifications and cross lists the bulb as Anchor #52212 and trade number 2112. Their catalogue list the bulbs at $3.59 each, and while the catalogue and store prices are usually the same, the stores may have them packaged two on a card at a different price.

Nope Joe, that warn't the bulb that was in my '94 22. It didn't have the points on the end, but indentations. Hence my description as an "innie" vice "outie". I'll try to find a pix and post it. There may be two types out there though, mine was different than your pix.
Couldn't find a good picture but here's the West Marine CATALOG PAGE
If you look on the left side of the page, there are two styles of "festoon" based bulbs. One is an "outie" like Joe showed with points on the end, the other is an "innie" like I had. The "outie" wouldn't fit my nav light. West Marine has both.

Charlie-
The listing correctly identifies the bulb as PERKO Part Number: 0070DP1CLR, and under the image says
"Pictures are for concept only. Actual product may vary from image. Always verify against descriptions and manufacturer information on this part. If you have questions please contact us."
Yes, image looks like an "Innie" on one end and an "outie" on the other. I did note that the correct bulb was a double "outie".
The information in my post:
"NOTE: The bulb is rated at 15 watts at 12 volts and drawing 0.97 amps, and producing 12 candlepower.

was taken from the page in the WM Catalogue you quote:
I guess I should have used that page as an illustration instead!
Please note they don't differentiate in the listing between the two different types of festoon bulbs!
Sorry if I confused you or any other of my fellow C-Brats!
See ya' in Seattle!
