This question is aimed at seafarers, retired or otherwise. What is a 'GOLLYWOBBLER' on a boat/ship. The question came up in a Pub Quiz and a woman was first with the correct answer. No Googling! _________________ Bill & Evelyn Macdonald

Oh, that's easy. A gollywobbler is a small, lizardlike amphibian of the order Caudata, with porous, scaleless skin.

Old Gollywobbler Brown Ale
A traditional and true English Mild "session" ale. A rich, malty profile is
punctuated by hints of hop flavor and aroma; a complex, understated
fruitiness makes the signature statement. Specific Gravity: 1.045, Alcohol
by volume: 4.75%.

I contacted the BC comic strip for this answer.
"Gollywobbler" The admonition received after failing the field sobriety test -
Gollywobbler, you're under arrest for drunk driving!

Hi, I'm new to the group. Hope to be a genuine owner member soon...am looking at a used CD next week. Anyway... I believe a gollywobbler is a spinnaker-like sail ste between the fore and main or the main and mizzen on a two-masted vessel. |
