A Xantrex XC3012 is nice because you can remote the display. Of course, you
can also get a remote for the TrueCharge. I like the remote because
I can check my battery voltages easily. And I like blinking lights on the
helm.

One thing about the XC3012 - it cycles through the banks. So, if the house
bank is heavily discharged and the starting battery also needs a charge,
the house lights will dim slightly when the charger switches to the
starting bank. Switches, mmm, every minute or so?

I don't know the if the Xantrex TrueCharge works the same way or not.
It doesn't really bother me, and I only really noticed it a lot when I first
installed the charger last winter and the batteries were cold and somewhat
flat. Don't recall noticing this all summer.
