All those Orca pictures are awesome. Where did you see them? How many boats were up there this time? Looks like another very successful rondezvous.

Deb and Don, I think someone counted 22 boats. Not as many as last year, but at least six wanna-C's wanted to but couldn't make it.

There were maybe 25 of us C-Brats I think at Blakely (didn't really count), 6 of us went out whale watching. Others went fishing or for different cruises. We headed down the west side of San Juan Island to about the Lime Kiln Lighthouse, got into the whales a little south of there. They were moving north, so we repositioned a couple of times and they kept catching up with us - all in all, a fabulous experience! We understand there were 60 - 80 whales or so. NEXT YEAR ON FILM!!!!

Even though we missed joining you at Blakely for the gathering (due to a weeks long "boaterhoming", adventure on Lake Roosevelt), I enjoyed reading of the great time that all of you had. Viewing your photos eases the seperation anxiety from all of our "C-Buddies"!

The TyBoo and its crew made it home without incident.

We'll have much to say about our 12 days in the SJ's after we get settled in here. But for now, I have to say thanks so much to all the special friends. You know what I mean!

Hey - let's do this again next year!!

Mike, glad you had a great time in the San Juans. And we are looking forward to some tales. It was wonderful to have you all at Blakely. And definitely we expect to see you all next year. And in between also. Hugs from Kate and I to you all.

Helen O' is home and already yearning for next years San Juans/Gulf Islands cruise. To say we had a great time would be an understatement. Special thanks to Tyboo Mike, Kay and their delightful grandaughters for making this such a memorable vacation. We had a blast!

Speaking of Lake Roosevelt...Bill and El will be passing through there one of these days, and we need to plan a gathering while they are there (and there is water in the lake). I am not sure, but I think that may be happening later this summer. Went to my H.S. 40 yr reunion (is that really possible?) last night, and one of my classmates lives at Gifford, and he says there is a boat launch right across the street from his house, he invited us to launch there and park at his house. So I guess I have to figure out where Gifford is, hope it is not 150 miles from where everyone else is going to be...

Hi All,

The Lynn Marie crew is home too and the commitments that drug us away from the Islands are now behind us so my head is above water. We had such a great time and thanks to all of you Judy, my apprehensive boat crew, made it through the whole week without to many anxiety attacks so it looks like we'll be there next year.
Left Blakely at 5:30 AM and arrived at our house at 5:36 PM. That included a quick stop at E.Q. Marine and an hour and a half wait to get on the ferry to Port Townsend.
Today will be spent cleaning the boat and hopefully getting the pictures posted.
Thanks again for all the warmth and friendship. These things are startng to give a new meaning to the word "Brats".

Tim

The gentleman that owns Two Beersthe Tollycraft that was moored at the end of the dock gave me this key and lanyard and asked if it belonged to anyone in our group. So there is a picture of it in the Blakely Album. Any takers? By the way the Tolly was at Blakely last year with us too... maybe we should induct them in..

Pat, Gifford is about 18 miles north of Hunter which is where we always put in for our yearly guy trip. From interstate 90 one way is to take the Odessa exit heading north. This is about 30 miles east of Moses Lake. From there I would guess it is about an hour and a half to Hunter all on two lane road and then on another 18 or so to Gifford. Found it on Mapquest.

Great, thanks! We will have a map of course. I am guessing it is probably a four hour trip then? Don't know if you knew Vance Gervais, but Gifford is now his home, he says the boat ramp is directly across the street from his house, not sure how many tow rigs he could accommodate at his house, but I will ask!

Wow, Pat, what a coincidence to find that your school chum lives where he does. By the way, I'd have figured you for a 30, not a 40 year reunion guy.

By the by, guy, did Patti see the last Nor'westing wrap-up on our Gulf Island gig? I mean, she likes crabs, right?

No, Patty tried to pick up the Nor'westing mag at Boater's World yesterday and they didn't have it...maybe somebody could scan the article and put it in the Documents forum (hint, hint)!
