Dave,
Thanks for the kind words. We actually did enjoy our cruise very much, even though it had some unexpected surprises and was shorter than we expected. It also was a good learning experience for us and we are better prepared for the next adventure.
After reading Casey's last post, I am very grateful for our lake experience. Just when you think you've got real problems, something happens to make you realize you should be counting your blessings instead of your troubles. _________________ Marilyn & Denny |

Denny - stuff happens, next time take along some Alaskan women or children, they can rebuild engines, weld, machine replacement parts and do fiberglass repairs, not to mention remove lug nuts and wiper arms, according to Mike (Alasgun)! Seriously, you handled this with a lot more calmness than I probably would have (Patty - no need for a comment here please!). _________________

I have added 5 more photos on the Powell Oct. 2007 album. One was during the height of the storm, one before the storm, and one the next AM, with the boats all pulled off at anchor (except Frequent Sea). We tried to hook up with the group after we came down from Hall's Landing, but with the canyons and radio reception were unable--sorry we missed some of the folks! _________________ Bob Austin

They're in the Lake Powell album, Warren. Some pretty light on those boats just before the storm. _________________ Jim & Joan

Here is some of the storm. Note the "waterfalls" down the cliff faces--there were thousands of these. Also notice the errosion of the beach bank--and we had doubled up our stern lines to the anchors on the beach.
There were some nice lightning strikes, but we didn't get any photos of them (I didn't bring the good cameras this time). |

You want rain? This even makes Seatlle seem tame.
The effect of light on the same vista:
I have to say that of all the parts of the world we have cruised, Lake Powell is one of Marie's top two or three places. There is such variety and beauty, plus so many things to do. |
