Hi All, Over the years I have owned many small boats, (15+... Arima, Whaler, Zodiac... ) and actually prefer saltwater fishing from smaller boats. Recently sold my GlasPly Zoom, Zoom project. I discovered that I prefer economy over raw power. Because I was boat-less, I purchased an older 17' Bayliner, for under 5 Grand, so I could still catch fish. Despite the brand, I am rather impressed with that little boat! It is beamy, seems well built, and takes a chop better than most of the boats I have owned! This season my buddy and I caught lots of Humpies in this boat. Next year I planned on buying a new Raider aluminum. So I was satisfied with the lowly Bayliner for now.

Until, the day I came across a 16' CD Angler for sale online, at King Salmon Marine in Auburn, WA. I just knew this boat was going to be too small! But I had to cross the pond and take a look. And, it took only about 2 minutes of looking!

As the new owner, I am still grinning from ear to ear! Laughing I have never been moved so much by a small boat! I love this boat! What a big, little boat! It came un-named. So I decided to name it Humpy, for the pink salmon we had so much fun catching in the Bayliner. By the way, the Bayliner is somewhat reluctantly up for sale now. Crying or Very sad But the 16' Angler stole my heart. Love Humpy is a 1991 hull, so clean! HIN: DOR15214L091 With a newer 50HP Honda and 4HP Yamaha. The Honda is just what I wanted! The only electronics is an Eagle Plotter/Sounder combo. So it is nearly like starting with a new hull- I can rig her as I like! I intend to do lots. Add downriggers, radar and arch/Rocket launcher, pot puller, vhf...

Sorry this is long, but I am really into this boat now! I may have actually found my last fishing boat! As I make changes, I'll post photos in my album. I hope some fish, crab, shrimp photos too! This boat came from California (Redwood Marine, Eureka CA), then moved to Washington State around 2003. I live in Sequim and Humpy will mainly be fishing the waters of The Straight of Juan De Fuca, on The Olympic Peninsula. If any know the history of this boat, please do tell. Thanks, Chris.

Way to go my man! What a sweet little boat. She looks to be in great condition and you have the perfect power already installed. I wish you many fun hours planning and executing custom modifications, as well as many fun hours on the water. Cheers! Mike.

I too am extremely impressed with the 16 Angler, they are just astounding little boats...I enjoy being out in it every bit as much as in the 25, and we have the original 1991 Johnson 40 on ours. Congrats, hope to see you out on the water soon!

So, from the title on this thread, you're already working with the premise that there will be another C-Dory (since this is your first)? Wink

Congratulations - great looking boat! Thumbs Up

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Chris - welcome aboard.

The thing in your photo album you questioned, looks like an upside permatrim.

Don’t know how it will perform but if you are unhappy with it, get a real permatrim or make one. I can guarantee you will be happy with the real thing. To find out more about them do a search on this site for permatrim.

Cabochris,

Welcome to the Sequim Division of the C-Brats, and to the C-Dory Family. Nice looking Boat. You will hear that again and again I'm sure, and it's true. There are several CD's around our neighbourhood, Roger mentioned us and our neighbors, and we run into others frequently. Will be looking forward to meeting you and seeing "Humpy" on the water.

Congrats on your boat. You will for sure love this boat. Happy Humping...I know you can not wait toget the fish junk on the boat and put it to work. Feel sure you will like it.

I like Joe thought it was upside down... Humm.

MAYBE NOT !!!

Check it out HERE. (Click on "More details" under left middle photo.)

Chris- Is this the one you have?

Most of the ones we regularly see are turned down on the side and/or trailing edges.

Joe.

Thanks for the kind words! My dreams are full of CD! I love the salt in my face and have many other hobbies too. If/when I desire to cruise... down the road a bit, then I may look at larger CDs. All your boats look real nice!

For now though I will focus on fishing out of my sweet 16. I just purchased 2 Cannon electric downriggers with Positive Ion Control on ebay. They really seemed to attract fish on my GlasPly. Also I won a small Revere self-inflating liferaft for 2. Hope I will never have to use that, but I feel better with it onboard.

The fellow that built my last radar arch is out of town, so I am waiting to hear back from him. Having the arch built can take some time.

I will have to see if there is any paperwork on the possible upsidedown foil? Chris.
