It's the mini-me boat in the upper left of this photo. Great styling, but I think it's gotta be a one-off boat. Any clues anyone?

Don, since both vessels appear to be flying the Red Ensign, suspect she is one of the many small pilot house boats built in the UK.

Interesting anchor, too!

Dale

edited to correct terminology: The Red Ensign is the flag of the British Merchant Navy.

I think Nelson is a "standard" in the UK. The front portlights are common on those, whereas the Orkney, the Raider, and others, do not have them. I don't know whether Nelson makes/made a boat as small as the one in the picture though Question

I think you're right, Jim. I searched a bit and found this URL for an interesting 25 footer designed by Nelson but built by Seaward.... A little pricey at $178,000 US.

Wow ! Don was right....it is 178k ....even with twin 75hp diesels...that's a bunch... but it also really looks tough...designed for class 8 winds and waves to 4 meters.... I am impressed.... I sure would hate to be the guy that had to test that boat..

Maybe it's not so bad... I re read the page...and that baby is designed for English Channel Crossings...... wow !....then go to the photo's and look at the layout and to the detail photo's....That is one neat boat...with good power and speed...plus safety and by the looks, real quality....so at $178k it is not a bad deal compared to our 25' tug...

As I read their price list ,the published price includes the UK's VAT tax of 17%. If you purchased one and imported it to the US you wouldn't have to pay the VAT. This would make the price about $146,000. Of course by the time you paid the shipping and any import taxes you'd probably be right back up to
$178,000. Laughing

It would be fun to take European delivery of that boat, drive it around for a summer and then ship it back home across the Pond!

Wow! That's one well designed and built boat, with fit and finish way beyond what we're used to seeing! Joe.
