It's possible I might ruffle some feathers, I hope not, but I've been thinking about this for awhile.

Since the dust from the whole Cape Cruiser (CC) episode has now settled, and the factory has announced that they will be producing and selling the Venture Series (the old CC 23' & 26' molds), isn't it time we open up this site to CC owners as well? When the factory was involved with the C-Rangers, this site had no problem with opening it's arms to C-Ranger owners. The arms remain open even thought the Ranger Tugs are no longer affiliated with C-Dory. I figure since CC's are technically part of the C-Dory family, I think this forum should recognize that. In that way, CC owners such as Best Day and others would feel welcome to post pics and offer insights on their boats as well.

What do you think?

Yup. The principals in the companies let the courts work out their solution. We're all just boat owners... let's "be nice." Wink

Good call and good timing, Peter.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Good idea. There can't be that many CC owner out there.

They are so much like a CD that from a short distance it is hard to tell.

Those folks like boating as much as we do.

Please educate this newbie. Are CC's still made, when were they made, and how many.

I found some info here: http://www.threeriversmarineinc.com/venture.html

this seems to be quite a deal!! http://www.threeriversmarineinc.com/newboats.html

The side to side comparison is too much, I can see why the courts must have become involved. http://www.threeriversmarineinc.com/compare.html

impressive at a distance, especially if the fuel consumption is real.

I assume that is dated info.

Please educate the naive newbie

Is that the basis for the 23 Venture that's a teaser on the new C-Dory site?? Sad

We've always been one big happy family (with normal family complaining and better than typical family levels of conflict). To my knowledge, CC owners have always been welcome. There was just one guy who was a bit of a troll that stirred the pot up so much that ultimately, he wasn't welcome (the only one ever "evicted" from this site).

So, I like many others, would be happy to have CC owners on this site.

I agree. They're pretty much orphans now and would be a welcome addition.

Nuttin' like brevity and accuracy...thanks for sayin' it like it is, Roger.

I've made no secret of my preference of the 26 Cape Cruiser design over the 25 C-Dory. If C-Dory brings this to market as a "Venture 26" - something I've heard rumor of for over 6 months - that will be a welcome addition to the lineup.

Bill, it is more than a "rumor"! I would promote it at least to a "thought" or even a "probability"! The Venture 23' and 26' are on the C-Dory web site as "Coming soon"! Here is the page. They also got rid of the non-functional home page, it looks like they are working on the site.

We have followed the site for quiet a while and about 8 months ago finally
bought a boat- We're coming out of the closet- We came across a used CC 23 at a fair price. Its very similar to the CD22.You can definetly see the Toland influence. We'd like to continue to participate on C Brats. Alan & Linda .CC23 "Simplicity"
