I would appreciate everyone's input!
I a considering the purchase of a new C-Dory 22' Angler. My wife and I like to fish the sounds, bays, rivers and creeks on the North Carolina coast. We also, like to go offshore up to 15 miles to fish various reefs on good weather days. I found that we could not fish many of the shallow waters in my Mako with a deep-v hull.
Our fresh water fishing will be done on Falls Lake, Jordan Lake, Kerr Lake and Gaston Lake.
The only C-Dory that I have seen has been on the C-Dory web site and C-Brats. However, I plan to visit Mobile Marine East next month to look at the all the C-Dory boats.
I am thinking of buying the following: New C-Dory 22' Angler with an Evinrude 90 HP E-TEC. Road King-single axle-aluminum-bunk trailer. Does anyone have performance figures for this setup?
I will be towing the boat with a Dodge 1500 Pickup truck or a Lexus LX 470 SUV.
Thanks for your comments.

You'll know a lot more after you look at the boats. I have no problems with your choices although I have a dual axle (it doesn't have to have it). Good luck and have fun! _________________ >Film: C-Dory Buyers Guide< |

I would vote for the two axel trailer if you are going to be towing much. If only in a yard to the ramp or house to ramp, then single axel. Out East here, we tend to use more of the Aluminum trailers. West Coast mostly use Galvanized trailers.
The 90 hp will be plenty, but the ride of the C Dory will be much different than the Mako. Definately get trim tabs (they may be standard?).
We like to carry a kicker for boats which are going any distance offshore.
Incidently I didn't realize that the lexus 470 had a tow capacity of 6500 lbs.
