Hi folks. Just wanted to say a quick hi to the group and say thanks for all the info I've pulled from these pages in the last few months. I'm a 54 year old C-Dory newbie wannabe owner from Alberta Canada. I'm looking seriously at the 22 cruisers and I'm pretty sure that's my beast of choice. I'll be retiring to Vancouver Island in the next year and a boat is a must. I see the honda 90 looks to be the single of choice. Anyone out there running a new Merc 90? Any comparisons available? Problems I should know about? Thanks for any info. _________________ Dave B. |

I have a 2006 22 ft cruiser which i have used a lot, mainly in the ocean for salmon and tuna and halibut, i wont say anything bad about a honda cause i have one for my kicker motor, great motor, but my main motor is a 90 e-tech, which i really love, has never let me down yet, seems to have plenty of pep as well,just thought you might want to check out the e-tech. thanks john, enjoy your new cruiser. |

Hello Dave
A C-Dory would look good on Carson lake.
Just kidding.
I am a new owner here in Edmonton so if you are driving through and want to talk fell free to look me up.
Our's is the angler model with a 90 Yamaha.
Happy so far. Our next trip is to Slave lake at the end of July.
Welcome aboard

I just recently replaced my 2003 Honda 75 with a new model Honda 90. I had always wished my 75 had fuel injection, and got it on the new one. The new one is way smoother, starts extremely well (unlike the old one on cold days), and is very peppy. I understand I will have better fuel mileage with the 90 over the 75. A small feature I like is a washout connection that works without the engine running.
High reference from me.

Dave
Hi and welcome. We have a 07 22' cruiser with a 90hp Merc four stroke engine. I like it fine. we have over 30 hrs so far and no complaints. This is the second merc we have owned the first was a 150 two stroke. I know it is apples and oranges but we put a ton of hours on the 150 in the 8 years we had owned the other boat with absolutly no problems at all so I did not think twice about a second Merc. Hope this helps

Dave;
Welcome to Cdoryland. I currently have an older 2 stroke on my 22 Hunky Dory but when I repower I will seriously look at the 4 stroke Merc.
I had a 150 Opti Max on a different boat and really liked it as well The 2 strokes are lighter but there is that hassle of remembering to fill up the oil tank on a regular bases. The Opti Max oil ain't cheat either. I also like the idea of there being a Merc dealer pretty much anywhere you go on the water, either in the chuck or on the lakes in BC. Good luck on your search.

Welcome from another wannabe newbie. Heading to Sechelt to visit friends in 2 weeks, dreaming of a 22 Angler which I'll customize the inside. For use in that area. It may take me a couple of years, but it's coming. Want the bigger cockpit, and more seating inside. Don't care about fridge, stove and probably the sink. _________________ Soon to join C-Dory owners |
