Just posted a few pics of a few modifications to our CD 22 purchased as a commuter version. I will add more photos when time permits. We are about to head out to join the Cumberland Gathering. YAHOO....... _________________ Richard and Cheryle Porter |

RichardW-
Very nice job on the conversions, and very ingenious! Excellent work!
The three-way table ought to become a staple component in boat designer's interior tricks to utilize and save space! Is the table a standard RV unit?
I do find it kind of humorous that the specialized Commuter interior was converted back to cruising mode. There's nothing else in the C-Dory world as fundamentally functional and affordable for more people than the CD-22 Cruiser.
Swivel table can be moved in 3 axes to form dining table, chart/laptop surface, galley table or it can be placed in vertical position to stow.

Roadtreck came up with a 3 way table for their "Popular" series of 19 foot vans (very similar theory to CD-22) and I've often thought that type of table could save much space in the 22. The factory should take a look at them and get some ideas. _________________ >Film: C-Dory Buyers Guide< |

The table is offered as an accessory on larger boats by Garelick. I had begun to design and build this table and found that the exact design already existed. Someone on Ebay sold it to me for about 40% of the typical market price. I thought about this for a while since the placement and flexibility of the table in such a small space is critical.
Thanks for the kind feedback.

Richard,
The C-Dory I just purchased is configured with the commuter set up similar to yours on the port side. I would like to add the Garelick three-way swivel table just like you have.

I was wondering what you used for a backing plate when you bolted it to the forward bulk head? Did you add the wood lip around the edge of the table yourself? The wood trim really looks nice. Does it actually fold out of the way when not in use or do you lay it on a v-berth? All of your other modifications look great.

What a great idea! I like the idea of covering the stove and sink for some seating. It probably would not be too hard to setup a folding captains chair to allow for a berth on that side as well. _________________ Captain Matt
