We spent most of the afternoon on Wild Blue today... cruised along South Padre Island, a very busy place during Holy Week. Seeing it from the water is definitely better than trying to fight traffic on land. All the excursion boats were packed, the dolphins were plentiful, lots of folks out fishing, and the weather was about perfect. We had lunch onboard and enjoyed the sights... a darn fine day. 
When we got back to our dock, I hosed down the boat and joined Joan on the deck for some sun and relaxation. Within a few minutes, our neighbors from across the canal came by... "We wanted to bring you a welcome-home present." Great - I love presents! 
And here it is...
This image doesn't begin to show the spectacular pen and ink handwork; our neighbor is an accomplished artist, and this certainly is a treasure for us. Thought I'd share with y'all... we certainly have some wonderful neighbors all around us here.

that is nice, it's good to have neighbors like that. I can see where a person with art talent would find a C-Dory a good subject....kind of a clasic boat looking thing it is

What a wonderful gift! You certainly have some very special neighbors! Your neighbor's attention to detail in the artwork is impeccable (ie: anchor locker drainage ports, bow eye, etc.)

Jim-
That's a great piece of artwork!
Wonder if it could be used for other than your personal use, like for all our use on the C-Brat site, considering copyright issues, etc.? I know it would require permission.
With your photo / graphic programs, could you manipulate or tilt the boat so that the boat's waterline to water surface is parallel?

I am jealous of folks with talent. I am still trying to draw a straight line using a ruler. Great job and Great Neighbors.
Joe: Real boats do not cruise in a 2D world....pop the top on a jug of Wild Turkey and let your mind's eye open up.

I visited with my neighbor and he gave me permission for usage at my discretion, including commercial usage. The size of the original is approx 17"x8". And, yes, in Photoshop, it would be an easy fix to straighten the waterline. Joan is planning to mat the image (I had added the black line around what you see here), and will likely tilt it just enough in the mat for a straight horizon line.
I was overwhelmed with this gift and wanted to share it as is with my friends here.
