Right on Dr. John. We love our Raymarine integrated set-up. It certainly takes a bit of study to find all the capabilities (and there are probably some I still haven't found )... and I am a confirmed Mac kinda guy. Right next to our Raymarine is a small Garmin chartplotter (our 5th Garmin unit). For the uninitiated, neither unit seems intuitive... you just have to learn how to get the information you want from each unit. Once learned, it seems rather easy. All my boat-Garmin units have been similar enough that I could run them right out of the box. My wife has a Garmin E-Trex that continually confounds me... I think it's more of what one gets used to. I am now used to the E-80 and crazy about the features with the Platinum charts.
Having had the occasion to require service from both companies, I'd judge that about equal, too - both were very helpful and prompt.
My 2¢.
Best wishes,
