Hello all,
I was hoping to revisit the subject of window screens for our TC24. I tried working on this months ago and never really got anywhere that would work for me. I've searched thru all the past posts again, but still don't have the answer I'm looking for.
Many of the links people gave me last time were for screens that were specifically for the forward hatch......but that is not the hole we are looking to screen.
Our two vertical sliding windows (shown below) are where we want screens. I looked at the Valkyrie screens
http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_albumName=Valkyrie&id=forward_screen&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php
and although they look good, his canvas maker won't make them for a boat that he doesn't have on his property.
I don't have a canvas maker nearby.
I called SeaGlaze and they sent instructions on how to measure for a screen and said they would build it for $85 + shipping out of Canada, I'm just trying to find a different option.
It must keep out the no-seeums.
My wife doesn't sew. (at least she fishes and bear hunts)
Thanks for any ideas.
John

John,
My canvas guy WILL make screens and send them out, but he won't do canvas for a boat not on his property.
Look at the threads and and you should find his phone number. We're in SC for the holidays or I would look it up at home and send it to you, which I will do when we get home the first week of January if you like.
By the way, the screens work well for our needs. We also give them a daily shot of bug dope when the critters are really bad, but we don't encounter no-see-ums in our neck fo the woods. After battling the tiny livestock while canoeing in Canada, I'm glad too!
Let me know if you need me to send the number when we get back.
Best reagrds,
Nick

Nick,
Thanks, I think I like this option best. I just misunderstood in some previous posts. We already have snaps on the inside, like you do, for inside covers that came with the boat. I think the screens would snap on beautifully as long as I take perfect measurements. I will photograph the individual windows and then add precise measurements. I didn't see his number right off in previous posts, I'm in no rush, but I'll take the number when you get a chance.
Thanks,
John |
