Stumbled across some info on another site regarding a new trim tab indicator product from Bennett that should be out by the end of the year. I'm pretty excited about it since their current indicator would require yet another hole or more dash space. Looks like they finally are releasing something that can replace the current switches.

The Electronic Control Display is a new and unique product. The wiring from the control on the dashboard back to the pump is single cable. The system includes Bennett’s Patented Auto Tab Retractor (Tabs up at ignition key off). No power connection is required at the helm, positive and negative power is fed at the pump simplifying installation and adding flexibility in mounting.

This looks very similar to the Lenco LED/auto retract tab switch I upraded on the Rinker 270 we had prior to the Tom Cat--on those tabs (not as good as the Bennets) these switches were really handy. It made consistancy of trip in various conditions easy to obtain.

Happpy turkey day!

flapbreaker-

Is this trim control/indicator retrofittable to older Bennet trim tab systems, or just usable on the new models?

Joe.

Sea wolf, I'm not sure. I guess I was assuming it would fit all of theirs since their current "add on" indicator does. Here is a link to the discussion. You can actually ask the bennett rep since he's been the one providing information.

Thanks for the link!

From the discussion, it sounds like the top part of the actuators (rams) must also be replaced, as there are sensors for the new system that are located there. Note the two illustrations below:

You might be right about needing new tops but when I reviewed the installation instructions for their tpi2000 sensors you just modify them by adding a sensor so I was assuming the same process would be applied in their new unit. It will be interesting to see the cost and installation procedure for these when they become available.

Yup, there's quite a bit of uncertainty about these puppies as of yet!

They're supposed to have firm prices, etc., for the boat shows in January.

That deadline draws near!

Guess we'll have to just stay tuned!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Joe.

Looks like the Lenco we have on our boat. Complete with the auto-retract.
