Brock - PLEASE bring the tape of piper music, even if we can't get these dowdy ol' Revs to wear dresses (Jim will for money, but who is going to pay?). We HAVE to have piper music at least for the Brave Heart christening!

Hey GUYS, Rolling Eyes
What is wrong with you guys? I wear my Kilt to special occasions often. Laughing I am very proud of being Scottish and Icelandic. The man who holds " THE STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD" title wears a kilt in the matches for the title. My grandson can hardly wait for the Scottish games in Portland Ore. to start so we can get dressed up to go watch and join in the festible. Picture posted in Scorpio album of two very proud scotsmen IN THEIR KILTS.

Bill and Evelyn,

Saw a new boat couple at Des Moines harbor today and thought of you two, as this couple should of followed your example of seeking advice before getting in trouble. I was closing up our boat at the hoist after testing new trim tabs out in the rough stuff and I heard what sounded like a 'bat out of hell' and figured someone had just started their cigarette boat up. I thought whoever it was must be trying to impress the locals by blasting their eardrums with open exhaust pipes. After a minute or two of the noise I finally poked my head out to find not a cigarette boat but a brand new Bayliner with it's equally brand new and horribly oversized black Mercury engine tilted COMPLETELY out of the water and running at 2 to 3 grand! Good bye impeller! Tried to run over to let them know they had better shut it down and get it to the shop but by the time I got around to their dock they'd stuck it in the water and run into the boat tied up in front of them.

They proceeded to push off from that and boogie on out to open water. It was still pretty rough out today with lots of white caps, wind and waves and I'm not sure how far they will make it. As I did not see any evidence of lifevests on what looked like an 18 foot open ski boat and they had already shown everyone that they knew nothing whatsoever about the water, I can only imagine what they will accomplish next! First time I have ever felt sorry for a Bayliner.

Sure wish more new boat owners would do what you did and speak up, but of course you were already smart enough to pick a C-Dory so it figures.

Maybe we should start a list of experienced C-Brats that are willing to do what Lyle did and go out with new owners for a day cruise?!

Thanks Chivita Dave for the kind words. We are most appreciative of the time spent under Lyle's guidance. We practiced his lessons today out on the water with only one incident that did take us by surprise. Chugging along just fine when the boat coughed and splutted a bit before faltering to a stop. It took us a moment to realise our #1 gastank was empty and switch to #2 and get back underway. Otherwise, our cruise, launch, and hauling out went remarkably well. Thanks to our good friend Lyle!
