We have just posted a new thread on Halcyon Days. This one describes a perfect cruising day, shared with Chris, on Rana Verde.
http://www.geocities.com/bill_fiero/perfect.htm
We are on the California Delta -- my, what a unique place -- islands here are below sea level, believe it or not. _________________ El and Bill (former live-aboards)

We have just posted a bunch of new tales on our cruising in the California Delta. http://www.geocities.com/bill_fiero/deltaisolation.htm
From the bottom of the page, to read more tales, click home and then scroll to California and click on the other tales.
We are 'home' in the crinkled volcanic mountains of southern Nevada. Coyotes singing to us each evening and a mountain lion left 5" paw prints near us a few days ago.
Red Fox -- now you are getting the full story -- we puttered around in Alaska coves this summer and hang out in the crevices of Southern Nevada in winter -- the IRS has a REAL problem. This is a town you'd enjoy -- UFO's are regularly spotted landing on the dirt street, folks come out at sundown for a shoot out (they both missed), and we spotted two Bighorns today on the hill behind us. I now copy your tales into Word and print them, it's so much easier on the eyes, and I get more out of it to that way -- I don't have to rush as much, due to less eye strain.
Anyway, I read "The Dixon" You gize are fun! and honest to boot! certainly your going to publish your site to a book some day yaa yaa come on
PS: (El and Bill) I just read your latest, thanx for the warning to steer clear of that area... lol I think I know where that crowd hangs out in the winter months...... there all driving the streets of Ancho'rage'!! (see the word "rage" in the last part of 'Anchorage') it's ne secret, be warned if you should ever visit this city, everyones damn kids grew-up and now drives there own car |

We have posted up a tale about Halcyon's "home town," Nelson NV. http://www.geocities.com/bill_fiero/nelson.htm
Since we have left town, and are now in southern AZ, we're free from local repercussions (and shotguns) if we have inadvertently offended any of Nelson's (now) 25 permanent human residents (and 4 gigazillion cottontail rabbits). El and Bill on Halcyon |

Red Fox --
Yeh, Greg, sure know what you mean about ancho-rage. Lead natural history trips to Alaska for some years, and couldn't get out of ancho-rage soon enough. Our last driving trip up (a pleasure trip, not work), we drove the haul road to Prudhoe, and flew out of there to Nome, Kotzebue, and points east. We grabbed the Blue Canoe, and went to the end of the run (on the last day of that year's ferry run west) out through the Aleutians, then, in October, we drove up to Inuvik. Marvelous to look at the northern lights to the SOUTH. We got outta there before the McKenzie froze and beat feet south as the termination dust was covering the highway in our wake. Good trip. We did a little boating around on Prince William Sound on other trips, to look at the wildlife, so know a little about your boating area. No one -- NO ONE -- can take pictures of that country like you do. We sure enjoy your photos and your comments on this site. Next trip north, we'll be looking for you. El and Bill on Halcyon |

Hey I値l hold ya to that! -sounds like I need the tour guide from you two! Wow, you have been around my territory more than I! And you did the haul road to boot! I have done a portion of it, when I used to go to Manly on my motorcycle. I have been wanting to do what you did lately 謀oing the Aleutians, I have only read a little about it, I値l bet it was a rough trip.. huh!
Thanx for the compliment on my photography! I値l be posting more this winter as I get around to it. |

Did you receive our bon voyage message? El and Bill wrote: | We have just finished a cruise from Myanmar, through Thailand to Laos. Elephants and good beer!
