I just posted four photos of L. Ontario (located at the end of the Little Mac Album). As the winds picked up to 40+ mph (some areas got gusts of 55+ mph), the lake appeared like an ocean with waves (rollers) of 20+ feet. |

Wayne, it was quite a storm on the coast of Maine too! We're in Downeast Maine, about 70 miles from the Canadian border. We had high winds/rain for the better part of two days and were without power for 30+ hours. Just south of us, they had gusts over 80mph and I don't doubt that it approached that here. We're on top of a rock overlooking little Kennebec Bay looking south into the ocean. Glad my boat is safe in the garage in Virginia!

It was not as bad here as had been predicted. A Storm Watch was issued for L. Ontario (which means they expected winds of 55+ mph) and our local weatherman (who is quite expert) predicted the waves at 5 miles offshore would exceed 30 feet.
I don't think it got quite that bad. But I did not venture out in my C-Dory to find out! |
