Karen and I are taking the CD to Angel Island this weekend. Never seen any dolfins in the Bay Crook

Reminded me of our trip to Ketchikan from the Seattle area last June, when we got into a pod of about 500. Rode our bow wave and stern wave for miles. Very cool.

As for worrying about these dolphins getting cut up by the prop. It is not a problem. These animals are such good swimmers. They are absolutely amazing to see how accurate they swim. I have had them swim perpendicular to me, and then just go right under my boat and pop out the other side. In the Santa Barbara Channel we have big ships passing thru, and they often can be see riding the bow wave of a cargo ship. The other thing that is amazing is if you get enough of them around the boat, you can hear the sounds they make; communicating to each other and using echo collation.

Such a treat..
I have seen pods of Dolphines as far as the eye can see in the early Spring.
On my sons first Tuna trip we came into a pod of Spinners. they were jumping at least 20 feet into the air doing flips and spins, it was like a front row seat at Sea World.

That is a great video and IO hope you don't mind if I share it with a few thousand of my close friends Very Happy

I just love that video! I forgot all about it.

I think it's great, but it could be improved by you water skiing behind Islander holding up makerels in your hand.

What was I thinking to say you should have been on water skis? You're the skipper! You belong at the helm! Natalie should have been water-skiing behind Islander and as Mike said, handing out chocolate chip cookies to the leaping dolphins! Now that would get you a U-Tube Emmy Award!
