Is there space for the 9.9 and a 90hp yamaha without interfering with the trim tabs. I am looking at purchasing a 22' angler that has a 90 on it and the tabs. I would prefer the have the kicker as back up. Will I have room to add the 9.9??

Here is some information form a earler post on this subject:

Peter,

My 9.9 four stroke was originally mounted on a bracket you could raise and lower. It broke (catastophically) in the first 3 months. I got my money back and simply mounted a Garelick backboard directly to the transom and it cleared Bennett trim tabs by about an inch with the motor down. When tilted up it clears the water by a couple of inches.

All in all it was a lot less expensive ($50) and stronger. In addition, I was able to get a steering rod from Cabelas to remote steer the kicker. Look at the pictures in the tech library that shows the results:

I'm sure there are a few variables - year of boat, size of tabs, kicker mount/location, swim step, etc.

But it can be done - had an F80 and T8 on my 19, same size as an F90/9.9. Fit with tabs and a swim step. Kicker mounted to starboard.

Pics are in my trim tab album.

Thank you very much.

That Garelik board, is that something you made yourself or is it a purchased item? This boat has Lemco tabs. From your ideas I see their is more than one way to skin cat.

I have been enjoying looking at both your pictures on the site. They have me now shopping for one of my own.

TH Marine makes a product they call the " Mini Jacker" and it is the one DaNag has pictured in his "trim tab album". They can be found on the Internet from about 69.95 to 119.00 depending on where you buy them...Bass Pro Shop online is the cheapest. It is the one I plan on getting for my 93 Angler...shortly.

It is a purchased item. It is part of a spring loaded kicker bracket...without the bracket...so to speak. It can be purchased all by it's self and I think they come in different sizes....Google it and let your fingers do the walking.

Good Luck welcome to the pub.
