Good thing you were drinking Green Scotch...the picture is in perfect focus.....and if you hadn't been drinking already, I am sure you would have started soon after seeing..."WoofyBear". _________________ Mike Taylor

I've added new material to the website. At this point, the story is complete as far as Sullivan Bay.

this c-brat thing is outstanding. in all our years of boating we have never been affiliated with a better group of boaters, willing to share both ideas and experiences.
i was visiting your site: cruising the inside passage to alaska. great site! question regarding the nashville trip and tenn river trip, is this an annual thing open to other c-dory owners, or was this just a one shot deal?
you guys are king!
so far, my wife and i can claim fame for having the cleanest boat east of the mississippi, but that's about all we do, clean, clean, clean. oh yeah, i can also install, modify and rewire just about anything.
we need to seriously, set sail! that's what is inspiring us most about this c-brat site, you guys are doing what we seem to fail at. actually casting the lines off and setting sail.
congratulations and keep blazing the trail (or waives) for all us
want-a-be's.
best regards
pat and linda

Welcome Pat & Linda,
Send Tyboo or Danag a PM and request a photo album so you can show off that "Clean" boat and all your add-on's. As far as the trips...check the event list right above the Recent Photos on the left of the home page and see what is being planned that might be of interest to you. We have a Gulf Coast Geathering planned for the end of October and we would love to see you there. Check it out.
Also, as to any trips or geatherings you see posted here, YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME...with or without your boat. |

Pat and Linda,
You're right. C-Brats is quite a resource. Welcome to the group.

I'm pleased that you liked the site and that it sparked interest in cruising out of Nashville.
Patrick Byrd (Byrdman) and his family were our host for the Nashville gathering. It would be hard to beat their brand of Southern hospitality. I don't know of any future plans for a gathering in Nashville. I can say that the Cumberland and Tennessee Rivers and the lakes empounded by the dams on them are a magical place in the spring. Put away the hose and wax and go see for yourself. The fall should be spectacular.
As Mike mentioned, there is a gathering on the Gulf Coast this fall. Byrdman seems to be involved in that. Check it out. |

Thanks George. Have you gotten Penny one of those water heaters yet so she can wash her hair? Hope to travel with you again soon. Too long since we have seen you. Yep, doing the Gulf Coast Gathering, doint the 2007 Seattle Boat Show Gathering, and with Sherryl and I moving back home to TN, and Mike and Brenda ("B") and our other family members still on Old Hickory Lake/Cumberland River system.... a Nashville gathering is not a problem at all. Yall just pick some dates....not during SEC football season.....unless of course you want to join Mike and B in Knoxville as part of the Vol's Navy.
George, I truly have appreciated your writings/photos of the Inside Passage. Can not wait to get up there for sure on my own hull.

George and Penny, your pix brought many smiles to my face! I only wish that I could have had the time to linger a bit at each stop and do the side trips as you did...Blaine, WA to Ketchikan, AK, in six days does not leave much opportunity for that, maybe next time if I can coax Patty to come!

Pat,
From what I've read and heard, you packed a lot of fun and adventure into your trip. I hope we'll have an 'eye-ball' chance to discuss our experiences some day soon.
I know what you mean about making a fast trip. On the way out I took thousands of pictures over several months. On the way home, we went from the other side of Myers Chuck to Anacortes in 10 days - 8 traveling - and took fewer than 10 pictures.
El and Bill,
Thanks for the kind words. When they come from someone with a highly effective site of his own, they mean even more. I can't help but reflect on the difference in our styles. Yours is all the more effective for having fewer words and pictures. Perhaps, one day I'll have the discipline to use fewer of both. Until then, my excuse is the same as (Abe's?): if I had more time, I'd write a shorter letter. |

HI ALL,
THIS PAST JUNE 16TH, LINDA AND I CASTED OFF FOR AN ALASKAN CRUISE ABOARD THE ROYAL CARIBBEAN'S, VISION OF THE SEA. WHAT A FANTASIC TIME, AND THE ALASKAN SCENERY WAS SOMETHING TO BEHOLD. SURE DO ENVY YOU NORTHWEST BOATERS. WE'D LOVE TO DO A NASHVILLE TRIP, OUR SON IS A PHYSICIAN AT VANDERBILT HOSPITAL, BE GREAT TO SEE HIM AND BOAT AT THE SAME TIME. I'LL WATCH THE POSTS FOR DATES, TO BE MENTIONED. SO, WE ARE TAKING YOUR ADVICE AND STOWING AWAY THE HOSES AND WAX BOTTLES, CASTING OFF FOR LOUISVILLE KY. ON OCT. 12, FOR A SIX DAY CRUISE ON THE OHIO RIVER. ABOARD "MISTY SEAS", ROUND TRIP IS ONLY 300 MILES, BUT COULD BE A PRELUDE TO BIGGER AND BETTER TRIPS.
MADE A SLIT MODIFICATION TO OUR CD-22, IN CABIN BILGE PUMP AREA. NEVER DID LIKE THAT OPENING UNDER THE CABINET, AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BULKHEAD, WHICH ALLOWS WATER FROM THE COCK PIT TO DRAIN INTO THE BILGE PUMP RESERVOIR, INSIDE THE CABINET. SOMETHING ABOUT MICE AND SPIDERS GETTING INTO THE SALON THRU THAT OPENING, SO, I GLASSED IT OVER AND FINISHED IT OFF WITH GELCOAT. ALSO INSTALLED A BILGE PUMP IN THE COCK PIT, BETWEEN THE GAS TANKS, PUT IN AN AUTOMATIC FLOAT SWITCH. FINAL PRODUCT LOOKS GOOD.
WISHING ALL A GREAT DAY!
OUT! |

Added new material to www.2wander.com
12 Sections on Alaska portion of recent trip up the Inside Passage, this includes 290 photographs and a write-up on each section.
The only section undone is one on life aboard Wanderer. C-Brats already know what it is like. |

George and Penny,
Great pictures and stories. I reviewed your Erie Canal pics and story before we went on our eastern Erie Canal trip this fall. I would love to take a month, September preferred, on the Canals. there is so much to see, and not enough time to see it.
Hope to meet up with you some day.

Thanks Fred,
I hope we get a chance to meet. Penny and I have not sailed up to Maine in the last few years. We have no plans to do so. However, we like sailing Maine waters. We might even haul Wanderer up that way. |
