ALL PARTIES SATISFIED IN EBAY DISPUTE...

I want to thank everyone on this site for a lot of helpful information in what has been a VERY trying week. I harbor no ill will toward the gentleman on Ebay who has told me he is a friend of many of you on C-Brats - he is a VERY good and decent man who was understandably tough but fair from the get go. From the start I told him, you and everyone else that I totally screwed up - guilty as charged. My wife had been telling me in the days before that if I were going to pull the auction and sell local to do it sooner than later and I simply dropped the ball and before I knew it I had made a mess - big time. Without going into the details I have made the gentleman whole to a point where he and I are satisfied with the result and he is making every effort to restore my feedback - per our agreement. Our mutual goal was to set us both to where we were before this happened and at the same time set the gentleman on a path to get a C-Dory he wants - that is happening. This is not to say the situation was a total win for him or me - but a compromise with the intent of moving everyone forward. What I really want to do is thank the people who helped me understand the engine weight/horsepower turnover/swamping issue - among those - Byrdman. My wife and I think this is why we may have struggled with the boat some and we are hopeful after this is fixed we are contemplating giving the boat another chance - in it's current mode overhorsepowered - nobody wants to buy it and liabilitywise it is a problem for me to sell - so she sits until we fix her. In this process I learned a ton about Ebay and while I am still a fan - you folks are correct - the new Ebay is far less friendly and is full of embedded rules and trap doors that both of us have fallen into and I can see why so many people are headed to Craigslist - a very different, but more user friendly site without so, so many rules... Thanks again to everyone for their support of both sides of the issue and helping to educate me what was fair, right and worth fixing.... - Mediaman
