This may seem incredible, but I am not making this up...

I bought an 8" touchscreen LCD monitor from offshore a little less than a year ago, brand is Lilliput, to use with my laptop and Coastal Explorer. Had been working great. This morning I set everything up to test and/or play. I was trying to figure out what the right-click is, it has this TouchKit software, and it says the help file is missing.

I really do not have a clue what I did, I was fooling around with the stylus, and the image on the screen reset itself, and is now upside down and inside out, if you can visualize this. If you could see through from the back and stood on your head, you would have the correct image.

(A) Has anything like this ever happened to anybody else? (2) What the heck did you do about it? ANYBODY who has any thought, PLEASE share them!!!! And yes, I have tried the "Reset" on the OSD - it does not fix the problem!!!!

Pat,
First off read the book...assuming you have already done that...next step is to reinstall the software and it should replace any drivers (files) that my have been damaged and put the unit back to factory settings. Good Luck.

While not familiar with this product, (so this free advice may be all it's worth), see if there is a display setting. It sounds as though both a horizontal flip (or invert) and a vertical flip have been set. HTH

Pat, just turn it upside down and use a mirror....

Seriously, some monitors have mirror capability for use with a backup camera for example, but usually things like that are done with a small unobtrusive switch, not via software. Put your bifocals on and check around the edge of the monitor or near the video leads for a configuration area. Maybe you bumped the switches.

Assuming it's one of these, what you're seeing is a feature of the unit. The specs include the following:

"Picture X-turn (mirror picture) & Y-turn"

Now...how to undo it. It's either in the firmware of the unit, or a function of the driver on the Windows side. In either case, one would think the manual would touch on this feature, and how it is configured.

My bet is on the firmware...they appear to marketed as a generic device, not strictly for computers. For example, if connected to a video camera for use as a remote display, the display adjustments would need to be done on the unit itself.

Yes, that is it - the Lilliput 809GL. I reinstalled the driver / TouchKit software, no effect. But I did get the manual and help files on my hard drive this time. The manual mentions this, but does not seem to have enough info for me to undo...it is NOT a button on the unit, it has to be in the firmware somewhere. The manual mentions two ways to do it, one is a feature of certain graphics cards (not my brand) or Pivot software, which as far as I know is not installed (??). I doubt that I will get it squared away in time for Ketchikan. Sad But thanks for the info, it is good to know for sure that it is a "feature" and not a malfunction!
