Deckadence is very nice. A little pricey, but worth it. Easy to clean and will also let dirt and water flow thru it. I have purchased mine through Jim's Marine Flooring, as he can also sell scraps he has on hand for cheaper than a full piece would cost. It's easy to cut and fit. Here is a link:
https://www.jimsmarineflooring.com/ Works great for both the cabin and the cockpit.

A fraction of the price of Deckadence, are vinyl loop mats, pool mats. They are a less expensive mat, and I have gotten mine from American Floor mat. 3 x 12 feet is $250. The Deckadence is wider, and I have used that in the cockpit.

I have used DriDeck and interlocking foam panels, which also work well. Plain ozite carpeting from Home Depot or Lowes are the cheaperst solution.

We have Deckadence in the cockpit of our 25 we have enjoyed it. It’s light, Easy to remove, and easy on bare feet. On our previous boat we had Dri deck which was ok just harder on the feet and more difficult to remove to clean under it.

We have GatorStep Marine Flooring throughout our 25 and it has held up nicely. We purchased the flooring at Permatop Canvas Company (Mound, MN) when they made our camper enclosure for our 25 a few years back.

I used the American Floor Mat vinyl loop for my C-Dory 22 per some historical posts by thataway. It was easy to cut and install, and it has been working as expected for the past several months.

I ordered the "Vinyl Mesh Pool Mat" in "grey", which actually turned out to be a dark charcoal color. If I did it again I would order the "Premium Vinyl Mesh Mat", which is more expensive but available in a lighter grey option. From what I understand it is the same material with additional backing, border, and color options. Opt for no backing/border when ordering.

The product is also available on Amazon.

I too have used the American Floor Mat, and had it in C-Traveler's cabin for 3 or 4 seasons, but it started to unravel somewhat, and leaving strands behind when I took it out to clean it. As the old adage says, you get what you pay for. I replaced it with the decadence last year. I had the Deckadence for both my cabin and cockpit on my 22, and it lasted 9 seasons and was still holding up quite well when I sold Midnight Flyer. The Deckadence is very easy to clean and soft to walk on. The Vinyl loop was also easy to clean, but not quite as soft as the Deckadence. Either will work well, but the Deckadence will hold up much longer. I don't think I paid over 50% more for the Deckadence over the Vinyl Loop. But again, I purchased a "scrap" piece from Jim's. It is quite a bit more expensive to have him cut from a new roll in the exact size or color you prefer. I really recommend getting a scrap piece if you can stand the color that he has available at the time, as he does discount them a fair amount from "new". Also, you may not get an exact fit going with a scrap piece. IE, the piece I purchased for my cabin does not fit perfectly corner to corner, side to side. However, the bare section is under cabinet lips and I have 1/2" uncovered at both ends of the cabin floor. Not a problem considering I would have had to pay at least another $100 to get a new piece cut exactly to my dimensions to cover the floor completely, or in the color blue. Colby

This website was less expensive than Jim.

The Deckadence is so tough that we actually can shove the entire cockpit section and cabin section into two big commercial washing machines with hot water, Tide pods and Clorox. They’ve been through 20 or so cycles with not a strand of unravelling and come out of the super spin cycle almost dry. Soft on bare feet. We wouldn’t go back to anything else. Soft if you fall, which us old folks worry about. PM me your address and I’ll send you a scrap piece if you want.

The major difference between Deckadence and other vinyl pool mats is that there is a silicon (nonskid, as you put silicon mats under carpets) backing. The other vinyl mats are otherwise relataively similar. If petrochemicals, such as gasoline or oil gets on the Deckadence, it becames very hard and stiff.

I don't put the mats in a commercial Washer. No need. I just lay them on a concrete pad, turn the hose on them, and if necessary use a soft scrub brush (standing up type, long handle).

They might be slightly softer. I had both types: the Deckadence because it came in wider width for the cockpit and the vinyl loop pool mat (cheaper kind) in the cabin where narrower width works well. The material does not "skid" on the floor where it is confined, so the non skid backing is not necessary. I had pieces cut for under the table, under helms man's feet, in the head the cabin step (industerial velcro there), I would not trust either type on that small step without being secured.

Is the Deckadence slightly better? It is a little softer and has the backing. Otherwise either is comfortable under the feet.

My only motivation in recommending the plain vinyl pool mat, is to save the boat owner a few bucks. I had a chance to evaluate them both over a number of years to use them on the same boat. Surprised

I started out with a thin indoor/outdoor carpet inside the cabin. It was inexpensive but offered very little padding and did not look very nice. I now have Luxury Woven Vinyl from Sailrite. It looks nice and feels softer underfoot than the carpet. Deckadence will be softer, but I prefer the appearance of the Luxury Woven Vinyl inside the cabin. -Jeff-

Decadence is the best product we’ve ever found. Our is 10 years old and it still looks like new not cheap but always looks good. We fish a lot on our boat and it never gets stained. We like the dark gray.
