I’m looking for your opinions on what the ideal window wiper setup on a 22’ Cruiser would be. The new 22 I saw at the Portland Boat Show today has electric pantograph wiper blades mounted at the top of the windows. My ‘99 came with manual wipers mounted at the bottom of the windows. As part of my restoration I have removed all hardware (discarded the old wipers) from the hull and filled most holes, so I’m starting from scratch. I want powered wipers and I’ve purchased a single 2-speed Ongaro wiper motor to experiment with. I like the idea of mounting the motors at the top of the windows. What about wiper arms? Any particular make or style? Pantograh? What’s your vision for an ideal configuration? Thank you!

That is my setup on my 2006, probably similar to what you saw at the boat show. It work great for me and I can't think of better option. Let me know if you need better picture or anything else, boat is not the easiest to get to but I'll try.
Good luck on your project.

The fans are just about as important as the wipers. I like C-Wolfe's dual fan setup.

I have the same set up as C-Wolfe on my 25', it has the panographic wiper arms and allows for a complete wipe of the windows. I also like his fan set up and may come up with a modified version of that with a couple of small box fans. Good luck.

Where did you get the fans from. I need to add a few to my boat?

The fan was installed by the previous owner, I don't think it's a known name brand, most likely not available anymore. In a quick search, I did not find any comparable.

I have these in my boat. They've gotten to be kind of pricey over the last couple of years, but work well.

Here's is what I am replacing my Calframo fans with; 5v USB fans they draw 2 watts on high speed, super quite, .5 watts on low speed, and move a lot of air for $8! I bought 2 of them so far...

We replaced our original computer fans with these. They will work on USB or batteries. Very pleased with them. On Amazon for $12 each
