Greetings. You have many upgrades and done a lot of work. But comparing the ages of other boats, it seems a bit high. There are several boats that are newer, and less price. Some are 2004's. (33k, 24k, 35k) I'm curious (and don't want to offend) if you'd take 28k? Again, don't want to offend. I'm in Montana, and would like to get this out of the way before I proceed. Thx.

No dog in this fight, but the pricing of C Dorys is not like used cars. The older boats were very well made, and if kept up, and upgraded they can be in better condition than a 20 year old "newer" boat. New engines (pleural, with low hours) are of significant value. So are upgraded electronics, etc. Also the history as to how well the boat has been kept, and the photos speak for themselves.

Yes C Dorys are priced higher for a very significAnt reason. They hold their value, in that the most recent hull, is the same as post early 1987 hulls. How the boat has been stored, covered, painted, or gel coat kept in excellent condition. All are factors.

What a boat is worth, is willing seller and willing buyer. I have kept track of the first C Dory 22 which I owned (1993) and each owner has put significant coin and work on the boat. It has had 2 engines since I sold it. The electronics have been kept up to date, etc.

Good luck to the seller, and to proposed buyers.
