The Chinook Fishery has been short and productive. Catch 22, Kickin' Back, Susan E and Kim Christine have been participating. Closed in pretty much all inner Puget Sound areas now.

What's HOT PINK right now is the 3-4 week Pink Salmon fishery. From Port Townsend to Seattle it is on! Ocean Coho should be on their tails in a couple of weeks!

Let's all post some pics!

My wife Jodi and I have been participating with C-Time, starting out on mid channel bank then over to Cypress island for the area 7 opener. Just got back Saturday from 5 days up in Nootka sound staying at Critter cove, what a blast. I will post some pictures when I can get that Figured out.

What is the setup for salmon in your area?
I was in gulf islands (north galiano) and tried some salmon fishing at porlier pass but didn't get a bite. Was on a very small 10ft boat with 2hp engine, so no downrigger. Was long lining (4oz to 8oz) with a dodger and various jigs/spoons. Didn't seem to be much action on other boats either.

KRC . For that style of fishing you want to use cut bait or a brads cut bait lure. troll slow or kick you motor in and out of gear . You could also try jigging for salmon.

A buddy of mine just told me he spent more time getting his boat in and out of the water yesterday than he and he a few friends spent actually catching their limit in Zone 10 in Puget Sound. On our way back through the locks after Seafair last weekend, the water seemed to be boiling with jumping salmon at the ladder.

Sad that kings closed so early. The real run is just showing up. The native to hatchery ratio was much different for us this year, almost 50 percent wild as opposed to usually maybe 20 percent. Still, feel very lucky to fish for salmon so close to home. Looking forward to coho season and seeing the usual suspects out there. I added a few pics to the fishing and camping album.

Zero salmon fishing down here in CA this year. Zilch, nada, nein, forget about it.
I guess every generation before me also thought the world was falling apart by the time they got old?
