We had a mold explosion this winter in the cdory and are getting it cleaned up. Funny that it happened during the snow storms.

Here is a picture of the foam. How should we go about cleaning it??

Tom,
Both chlorine and white vinegar will kill the mold. Another often touted method is to use equal parts of 90% isopropyl alcohol and warm water.

When foam gets into the deep part of the foam it is gong to be time to buy new foam!

We made the same decision yesterday Bob. Ordered a new custom foam topper yesterday. Slumber Ease is a local manufacturer here in Marysville wa. Their main product is custom mattresses for bed but they also sell the same for Boats , RVs , Chairs, etc. I spent an
hour talking to the owner Nick yesterday. He suggested that we go with a topper that is two different layers of foam of different stiffness. Hes going to layer the topper and cut to size. Foam in the last year has jumped up 140% in cost. So this is going to be about $300 cash. Not what I wanted to do but looks like what has to be done.

If any one is looking for a mattress custom made to fit you nick is the guy to talk to. Family owned business since 1962 https://slumberease.com/marine-rv-mattresses/

We had a two-layer mattress topper made locally for our boat. It was a great addition. We liked it so much we had one made for our pull-out guest bed at home. Sorry (but not surprised Confused) to hear the cost has shot up!

Try hot soapy water with a cup of bleach per gallon of water . Saturate for 30 min or longer. Rinse well. Wring out as much water as soon as possible . Use a box fan on it in garage if possible . Finish drying in full water. Good luck

Need to check if items are bleach safe, too
If possible store items indoors when not in use.
Foam absorbs moisture
