Afternoon guys and gals. Any thoughts on the two windlass mentioned above? Sounds like they are the same but the Profish can freefall down. I am not anchoring to sit on an exact spot and it worries me to drop and anchor that fast. I am thinking of going with the 700 Pro? Power up and power down. Thanks for any thoughts or ideas. |

I have owned both of these windlass. Unless you want the free fall feature, go with the 700 Pro. I like to pay out the anchor rode under control. Take up a little slack and check for set/draging. _________________ Bob Austin

I had the pro on my 22 and liked it. I put the profish on my 25, and the freefall and it's mechanism are somewhat a PITA. Hard to describe, but the way it works is with a ratcheting rod that makes a helluva racket when you bring the anchor up. I'd say unless you really have a use to freefall the anchor, stick with the regular pro. Colby |

I had the ProFish on my TC255 and never used that feature. Save some money and skip the Free Fall. _________________ Roger

Thanks for the great replies and experience. I won't use the freefall. So, I will be going with the 700 Pro. What a great place/resource. |
