Has anyone found an online company that does lettering that looks like the C-Dory logo, i.e. domed, black with a gold (or other color) shadow, and the ability to have the first letter of each word larger than the rest of the word. There's a ton of companies online out there, but who knows what the quality is, and it's pretty expensive to just buy and hope when you're looking at 4" lettering! Thanks! _________________ Karen W. and Robert R.- Fort Bragg, CA - Oh Buoy! |

Any good vinyl shop can do this. One time a detail person's apprentice who was working on the Tom Cat ruined one of the C Dory stickers. Photos and the old sticker were taken to a local vinyl shop and an exact replica of the C Dory logo was made. My "Thataway" on the 25 I just sold, is black with the gold offset. It is going to be twice as expensive. Also order the best vinyl--it will last much longer--and worth the price. _________________ Bob Austin

thanks, Thataway, we don't have a graphics or vinyl shop, let alone a good one, within less than a few hours drive, thus the hope for something online |

Lots of places online that can do lettering/graphics. The raised part might be hard to find, but the rest of it can be done by sending an appropriate file. I have used https://lettering.com/ in the past with good results at a reasonable price. |

I ordered new logos from the factory. Little expensive but they were same as the originals. |

thanks all, I ordered today from lettering.com (which is the same company as doityourselflettering.com, interesting) - we'll see how they come out. I really wanted to do some domed lettering like the C-Dory logo, but way too expensive without being able to see the product. Thanks again! |

If you are a member of BoatUS
https://www.boatus.com/products-and-services/boat-lettering
They do quality lettering. It's worth checking their website at least.

I had used Doityourselflettering.com in the past, and was happy with it. However I was having problems with the material staying on when I got my 25, so changed over to the one Harvey mentioned above, and it seemed to work better. Both of them seem to be easy companies to work with and stand behind their product. Colby |

All my boat lettering is from DIYlettering.com (now lettering.com) and I've had no issue with the lettering not staying on. |

thanks Harvey, I looked at boatsus, but they didn't have the font I wanted, so went with lettering.com, we'll see! |

Glad you found what you wanted. So, when it comes, get it on and let us know how it looks.

Ordered the lettering from lettering.com (which you can reach from a lot of different urls it appears) with their dark green, and a gold shadow.
I was initially quite disappointed with the fact that the dark green on their website was quite a lot "greener" than what I got (and I have a monitor calibrated for photography), as I was trying to kind match the C-Dory green stripe color. But now we kind of like it. However, I may have liked black with either a green or gold shadow better.
I could not figure out the attachment instructions (how do you attach tape to the top, then reach underneath and remove the backing??), but since we were applying the letters individually (we wanted to arch them, and needed larger letters for the first letter of each word, so had to order two different orders), I was able to find a different way to line them up and attach. Not a job I'd want full time
We initially planned to have bigger letters like everyone recommends so they can be seen from a distance, but we put up some larger printed letters of the same font and it was just too overwhelming for the boat for us. And, we're a small port, so....
Overall, the letters seem kind of thin, but I don't have anything to compare them to, so pretty pleased with the result, we're going to put a whale pic or something underneath the letters. In my eagerness to get them on, I didn't properly prepare the surface, so "my bad" if (when!) they come off

If you use the "Advanced Designer" on Lettering.com you can combine different sizes, fonts, colors, etc., into one decal. |
