With the U.S.-Canadian border finally open (for northbound travelers), my brother Bill and I are planning a three-week exploration of one of my favorite places, the Great Bear Rainforest, starting Sept. 6.
We plan to launch from Telegraph Cove, and cross Queen Charlotte Strait to Murray Labyrinth or Skull Cove, and then make our way around Cape Caution and north, perhaps as far as Prince Rupert. We'll be carrying lots of extra fuel, so we won't be locked into any particular destination.
Click here for an interactive map showing some of our possible anchoring/fueling opportunities. Once you're in the map, click on the individual icons for descriptions.
We probably won't be able to post any pictures until we return, but a Garmin inReach Explorer will be reporting our position every 10 minutes, once we're underway, and you can follow our track here.
InReach can also interface with Twitter to post short messages, which can be viewed on the home page of our website.
And you can sign up here to follow our progress via Twitter.
We'll have pictures and stories for you in October.
Wishing everyone a wonderful fall! _________________

Andy, Great to see your planned trip is coming to fruition. Wish I was going with but not this time so I'll follow your track as I can and see how it's going, and wait for the pix on the return. Travel safe and "Howdy" to Bill.
