If you have not been following the "Les-a-Gram" thread, here is the pic gracing the Home Page at the moment:

This picture is a COMPLETE FORGERY, that started out when Pat Byrd ("Freebyrd"), who has ENTIRELY TOO MUCH TIME ON HIS HANDS, added the name "C-Salt" to the picture of the C-Ranger 21 at EQ Marine...Freebyrd says he "was just messin' with Dusty's head."

THEN Roger Bumgarner ("SeaDNA"), who is an honest to God scientist but ALSO OBVIOUSLY HAS TOO MUCH TIME ON HIS HANDS, added in Dusty and the crab...

Never believe what you see again!

Thinking of Freebyrd, test tubes and bunsen burners is a little scary.

Crab? I thought it was a prosthesis at first. Something on the order of a modern "hook."

I kind of liked that picture cause it showed Dusty in the true light that I think of him in. That happens to be just a little bit bigger than life or the many boats he's commanded. I'll bet more than one of his former junior officers would agree. That's the kind of skipper I would be comfortable sailing with.

Thanks y'all - but the old goat is a born again coward! If mama D., who surfs the net, saw that picture with C-Salt on the side - wheee. I'd be on a diet of P&P or SOS for months. Pleaded with DaNag Bill to hide it! Thanks, Bill!!

Cool boat though -- and maybe some day when my floating armada goes away. A niche boat for sure, but lots of folks in that niche. Chugging along at 9 or 10 knots at less than a gallon of diesel an hour is my kind of cruising.

Love y'all -- even Freebyrd - the rat!!

Dusty
