I just went through the C-Dory Boats For Sale By Owner forum and cleaned it up. There are less than twenty for sale right now and that's the fewest I can remember seeing.
I moved the ads for boats that are known to be sold to the reference forum and took out a couple of real old ads. All the WTB type ads were moved to the WTB forum and any other misplaced posts were moved to the appropriate places. If you see any I missed please let me know.
It is looking pretty thin in the used C-Dory world. _________________ TyBoo Mike

I would have thought that 20 for sale at the same time was a pretty good number. |

That's great news, and I saw a post from NMI on facebook yesterday that they are getting a huge number of new orders across the different lines they produce. Seems like the marine industry is having a resurgence! _________________ 2007 22 cruiser sold 10/2021

We have a large power yacht dealer here in town. Went by yesterday. The lot was filled with new boat still shrink wrapped from the factory. They are all gone, he sells nationwide over the internet.
My friend is trying to buy a pontoon boat. Good luck with that.
Now seems the time to sell but one might have to wait a couple of years for the market to cool off to replace what you are selling. Sellers market for sure.
This one was a real bargain, judging on previous sales. Spending $900 on a complete detail, buff, polish, and wax would have upped the asking price many times more than the cost of the detail. Good news I guess. Like homes in the PNW it’s a seller’s market.
We almost pulled the trigger on a trawler but reconsidered due to current economic issues like inflation and high fuel costs. If we did buy it, the 25 would be for sale right now. _________________ "We can go over there...behind the 'little one'....."

He bought a $2m sailboat, and a new Hinckley Picnic boat.
But, he said lay he can’t lay his hands on a smaller Boston Whaler |

All thru the industry sales are very high as are prices. It will change at some point, and perhaps very rapidly.. (I hope not). We have boats for sale on several "lots" in town. Most dealers cannot get larger motors in a timely fashion. One I am using says he cannot get any motors more than 90 hp (other than what he has on boats in stock-mostly aluminum bass and Jon boats. _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks for all the tips! The list shrunk by a couple more but that is the cleanest the for sale forum has been in a while and nobody even had to prod me to straighten it up this time. |

Yes. The for sale list is now shorter than I remember seeing it since I have been a member of this site. Thank you for the cleanup.
I would like to also add my own personal grousing about the boat/motor/parts supply chain. I ordered twin 90 Mercurys first week December 2020 with expected delivery mid April. Third week of March I took my boat in to have old motors removed and measurements taken so shop could order all rigging to arrive hopefully about same time as motors. 2 weeks later new motors arrived. It is now 3rd week of May and I still don't have boat. Rigging (controls/cables/harnesses/gauges) is also in short supply and it appears quality control is suffering due to the high demands on production. Biggest holdup was one of the controls was recalled by Mercury before shop was able to get, and shop was told no new ones would be available until July if I remember correctly. Fortunately shop found another dealer with an older control that was not part of recall. Another part on engines (idle air controller I think) was also part of a recall and also had to be replaced. The tilt/trim sending unit on one motor has now been discovered to be bad. Now shop is waiting on that new part. I can't believe its been 6 weeks since new motors arrived and I am still waiting.
Bottom line is, if you are trying to buy boats/motors/rigging right now, it might require a lot of patience.

Same goes for trailer parts. I'm re-building the entire braking system on the trailer. All new S/S hard lines, rubber hoses & disc brakes/bearings etc. I replaced the entire surge actuator a few years ago, so it's still good to go.
One supplier only had three of the four brakes (Tie-Down Eng) I ordered and tried to "up-sell" me on brakes. (They were totally out of stock on the Kodiaks, except the most expensive models. I originally wanted Kodiaks but they had no date when they'd be back in stock) The up-sell to the top of the line Kodiaks, would have cost $190 more! A lot of the suppliers were out of stock on Kodiaks, Deemaxx, UFP, Tie-Down...
I found a website that had the four Tie-Downs, and freight went from $125 to $20. The website got lousy reviews, so I was apprehensive. But they shipped them the day I ordered them, so...hopefully, they are the correct item. |

Hey Jeff...
Congrats on the new motors. Here's hoping this will be all a distant memory by next year's Hontoon Hoot. Compared to what you had, your going to love your new engines. Look forward to comparing notes the next time we meet up.
