My wife and I purchased our first boat in 2008 it was a left over 2007 we affectionally called "My Heaven". We did what no boater should ever do, without any prior experience bought a brand new boat. I knew though with all the research we'd love it and find great use of the boat. I was right, not only did we love the boat but we found the community that circles these wonderful vessels to be just as rewarding. With the birth of my son life changes and we changed with it, sold the 2007. Just a few years later found myself an older CD made an offer clear across the country from California. Immediately upon moving to Maryland we traveled up to Maine just two days after moving and picked up our CD. We found later that year we were moving away from the water and sold it. Many many boats later to include a Rosborough, Willard, Tollycraft, Navigator, Arima, we are circling back - I have a mission and this boat fits it so well. There are other boats that might but the CD is such a great value in the PNW. Can't wait to trailer it to the coast, crab and then take it up to the San Juans. I don't think I'll ever get rid of this one, third one is the charm? I have had blue, clarinet red, and now looking at a third color. As soon as the signed around contract is in hand I'll post some links and pictures! |

Had never even ridden on a C-Dory boat before we bought ours but I knew what I was getting into from following Bill and El of Halcyon and their travels for many years. The information I have gained from the family of C-Brats members made DayBreak into the boat that she is and I would not have done anything different.
Love how you can tow these boats just about anywhere, they are fuel efficient, have a comfortable and warm enclosed cabin and offer a stable fishing platform while out in the ocean.
Hope you are soon able to close the deal on your C-Dory purchase and we look forward with anticipation to see some photos. _________________ Gary F

Funny, they were a couple that also motivated me into purchasing with confidence. I figured if two people can live on this little boat it's gotta be a great find. We bought without a ride until we went to pick it up from Sportcraft. It's been a love since! I loved the CD brand so much I reached out to NMI to see if they would allow me to be a dealer. No such luck in Oregon as we have one on the coast. |

This is a cool thread. Very cool! Now we just need to get Mr. Frazey back in a CD. He'd be crazy not to. _________________ TyBoo Mike

I would agree!
He's still boatless and hasn't landed on anything solid yet. Maybe a Tomcat? |
