Bugs are out and so am I. Time to put the screens in. This should be the easiest of all tasks.
I see the butterfly clips, I assume those go on the top. I press in the screen and find there's a t least a quarter inch overlap of the frame and the window track preventing me from getting the frame in the track.
There's got to be a trick.
I await your wise counsel. _________________ Tom Parrent

The little bent metal springs go toward the top, slide them & the upper frame up into the window frame, push bottom of screen into the frame & bottom of the track. The little springs should keep it all in place sliding in the track effortlessly |

I must have missed that part about using a mallet. I use a mallet a lot.
Screens are in!
(The big ones went in easy but, of course, I started with the little aft ones, thus the mallet)
On to plumbing! Where'd I put the mallet? |

Screens? I have no screens.
I was assuming I'd have to DIY something up with screen-type material and snaps or velcro or magnets or something.
What are these screens you speak of? Did they come with the boat from the factory or were they added on (if so, what's the source)? I have an older model, so guessing this might be something added more recently.
Looking for any input since it's coming up soon on my list. _________________ Gary Frerking

Gary,
MY 1993 C Dory 22 had screens. I believe that they were factory. It is possible that either screens were damaged or were never ordered on your boat.
It is remotely possible that you might be able to get screens from the Diamond Sea Glaze retail store...
It seems like John Highsmith fashioned with RV parts a screen for his aft smaller and square windows.
I have used both a cloth/web hem around the outside and screen sewn on to this with snaps on the inside (rear door currently), and used Velcro with army surplus "No See EM" screens. Velcro all around the edge attached to eating with hot glue, and the other side of white velcro to the frame. _________________ Bob Austin
