Come on guys, please post some photos or a link to photos if you want to sell your boat! It is good that many put a laundry list of upgrades and gear but without photos, preferably a few, at least no one is going to get overly excited.

Additionally, have the courtesy of responding to questions about your boat and indicating if it has been SOLD. Photo

There is an attachment feature available to users in the For Sale forum that allows uploading of images. The image size limit is small but the feature works really well. The initial post will have a thumbnail of the picture and a link to the full image.

That is the preferred method. We get a lot of requests from folks to set up albums (and a lot of well meaning but misguided suggestions from long time members for them to do so) solely for the purpose of posting ad pictures. That eats up a lot of time for the old guys running this place as well as a lot of server space that the old guys pay for. We still do it on request, however, and the old guys rarely complain.

These albums are put in the For Sale section of the gallery (inside the CBTech Library main album) with the idea that we will remove them when the boat is sold. I haven't done it for a while so there are lot of them. Users can also post individual photos to the For Sale album and embed them in their ad posts without the need for a dedicated album. Quite often, a member will request an album without letting us know it is to accompany an ad and we put the album into the main owners gallery where it often time sits unused.

One of these days we will upgrade the software and format of the C-Brats web site, but that will entail a lot of changes that this particular old guy may not be up for. Will has talked about it several times in the past and I have never discouraged it, but I have not encouraged it either. There will come a time that we won't have a choice, I'm afraid.

By the way, Will (Da Nag) and I are the old guys mentioned here and for or now we just keep plugging along.

One way to do it is request a gallery from the site administrator. Then load the photos into said gallery. Then add a link to a particular photo in your gallery to get it to appear in your posting.

Another way is to use the "Add an Attachment" feature just below the message entry box when creating a posting to add an image. Size is limited to 800x600 pixels though.

Please try the attachment feature as the first step, though. As you can see in ssobol's post (thank you for that!) it works very well.

If you can't make it work we will help you get the photos on here one way another.

Thanks to the "old guys" DaNag and TyBoo. The unsung heroes of C brats--without whom C brats would not exist.

Also a good time to remind that it cost $$ to keep the site running, and we all need to donate regularly!

I think the "Old Guys" are using that term loosely, Pretty sure I was here (on this earth) before either of them were. Sure glad they keep this place running like this clean well oiled machine.

Thanks to both.

TyBoo, this is not a monkey on your back but if the forum leaders elect to update the software, I am in for some $$$ to help out the effort. Others will help also. No complaints, no suggestion, just as offer to help out with the cost. Thanks for all you do to keep us up and running. Bob Jarrard
