I have a standard garage, going to measure the opening and length here later tonight. Just wondering who has fit their CD into the garage? Whats the largest I can squeeze into it? The marina I live close to wants over 300 a month for moorage. |

The boat is about 8 1/2 feet tall if you don't have anything on the roof. The length depends on the trailer, but our boat and trailer are about 28' with motors. _________________ Clay on Hammerhead

You back in Bellingham, or still down in Portland ?
The height is correct from the prior posting.
I cut and installed a swing away tongue hinge, I could measure it again tomorrow. But recalling 25' seems to be in my mind. |

Width could be an issue too. We had our trailer built 2" narrower than usual so we could just barely slide our CD22 into the garage. _________________ Richard Cook

Well, if you apply enough physics, you can make it work, If it doesn't work the first time back up, and try again, Faster, with a longer run up and closer to center.
OR and this is important. Measure, measure and measure. It takes at least three times. Pretty much every boat is different, and a standard garage door is only standard for a standard garage, house and driveway.
If you measure the boat height on the trailer, you might want to add a few inches for for/aft tilt and different tires. For the trailer length, include the tip of the tongue to the aft of the outboards, with them tilted up, then add whatever space you will need to get around the stern of the boat. Side to side, your trailer is going to come in at 8 to 8.5 feet. Depending on you accurate you are in backing, and how straight you can get before you come through the door, you might get by with 9 feet, ORA you might want more like 1- - 12 feet.

You might consider an enclosed storage facility. Here in Boise I have a 10x36 for $162/mo. So a little more than half the marina price. Since you can lock the door, security is good and you likely will have a place to store gear that you might not take on every trip. _________________ Jack
